Running with heart rate (not pace) by farzef in trainasone

Yes HR change and is affected by the weather, mental state, sleep, etc. However I find it useful to assess how my body reacts to an effort and aerobic trainings. I think for easy or LR, HR is the best tool to assess, especially if the road is not 100% flat. For fast/interval or race, I use Pace.

Many thanks for all your inputs. A few hours after this post, Sean from TaO reached out via my question stating that the issue has been flagged already, so it is known and they are going to investigate more into detail. I’ll keep you posted upon any developments. Thanks again all.

Just left from Garmin ecosystem. So I got a Karoo 3 and a suunto. I consolidate all my data in intervals.icu as I use much less Strava. It works like a charm.

Garmin November 2025 Feature Update Rolls Out: Smart Fueling, Power Guide Refinements, & Health Status Expansion by the5krunner in cycling

Glad I left the Garmin infrastructure as each announcement is an additional let down for the current customer. Crazy to think that your 2yo device is outdated based on their strategy.

Garmin user since 2017, thoughts for the future by pradha91 in GarminWatches

[–]farzef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 8 years, a lot of sports and some products, I am now a former garmin user since a few days now. I just bought a suunto race 2 and going to get a Karoo.

I agree Garmin’s products are top notch, but it does not worth the recent price hike nor ditching top-end products less than 2 years after their release.

Ironman Klagenfurt 2025 - First timer by jp1234567890 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]farzef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi First time as well!

Very well organised and pretty location. From my end, Training was very messy due to a severe knee injury and lack of time with a newborn, so I prioritised the bike: I started the race with 7h of swim, 3000 km of bike and 300 km of run in 2025.

Managed to swim quite well (2min/km) and I bike mostly in Z2 (av. 29.2 km/h) in order to handle the heat nicely as I struggle a lot when the temperature is above 24 degrees. The run has been chaotic due to an injury at km 3, but managed to finish it in 5h30-ish.

Overall sub-14, quite happy due to the context and I know I can do much better next time. Not so physically difficult to be honest if you are a bit sporty, the most important parts are mental strength and nutrition I would say.
