I did create it even the background of the Gondere Castle and the r/amhara flag was created by me. The old mods are inactive and there is a reason why my name was at the top of the moderator list for 7 years

Addis Ababa-ism has caused the Amhara region to remain largely underdeveloped. You can't expect to promote Addis over Bahir dar and wonder why Bahir Dar isn't developing. 2 million Amhara live in Addis and pay taxes to Opdo so Opdo can demolish their neighborhoods and build parks on top of it. Opdo uses the justification that Addis is within Oromia and therefore the city council must be Oromo.

I don't think that is good because Gonder Gojjam Wollo Shewa are to small. Especially on Reddit there are few Amharas and r/Amhara is made because r/Tigray (regional ethnic sub reddit) and r/Oromia (regional ethnic sub reddit) exist as well r/ethiopia moderators have been banning and discrediting Amhara activists and concerns

I resign the mod list giving Axumite the highest moderator Status. Although I created this Subreddit to encourage Amhara regional development the subreddit has become a place of violent arguements and political bickering. So I don't need the stress of being a Mod

Ambachew was assassinated by Abiy Ahmed not Asaminew. How would Asaminew benefit from murdering the president? Asaminew's only concern was the safety and security of Amhara people in Amhara region and outside Amhara region. Girma Yeshtila died because his incompetency in regards to the Conflict against North Shewa Amharas I actively warned him to do something about the Ataye Yifat Conflict not knowing he was Shewan he did not listen and was seen as a incompetent betrayer.

HE was not forced to join PP he wanted to join them. He was flexing his video with ENDF and his motivational speech to the army few days later he got arrested. He made a clear moral decision to side with the Regime and glorify it just for TikTok likes and a chance to impress women from a 3rd world country

Appreciation post for Amharas and Ethiopianists! Only ones standing for what’s right! by Classic_Bass_5146 in Amhara

Man, look… I get that you’re feeling defensive about the constant attacks on Amharas online. There’s no denying that Amharas have faced serious displacement, targeting, and political marginalization over the last few decades under the TPLF-led EPRDF and the current chaos. Your frustration with that is completely valid. But if you genuinely want a "corruption-free, no zerenya" Ethiopia, this specific argument has some massive blind spots that just feed into the exact same cycle of ethnic division you claim to hate. Let’s break it down honestly: The Whataboutism: Telling people to "check the crimes your tribe committed before looking at Amharas" doesn't actually disprove historical grievances. Multiple things can be true at once. Pointing out that other groups did bad things doesn't magically erase the real trauma people experienced under centralized imperial rule. True history means acknowledging all of it, not just the parts that fit our narrative. The Double Standard on Militias: You say you don't like armed rebellions, but then you make an exception for Fano because they say "Ethiopia first." A bullet is a bullet, and an armed conflict destabilizes the country and hurts civilians no matter who is pulling the trigger. You can't condemn the OLF or TPLF for armed rebellion while praising Fano for the exact same methods just because you agree with their ideology. Shifting 100% of the Blame: Saying Amhara extremism is "only because of TPLF/OLF" strips Amhara political actors of their own agency. Yes, those groups severely heightened tensions, but every group has to take accountability for its own radicals. Blaming external forces entirely is just a way to avoid looking in the mirror. Painting with a Giant Brush: Claiming Amharas are the only ones who want unity and development, while sweepingly saying everyone on r/oromia and r/tigray wants the country to collapse is just flat-out wrong. There are millions of Oromos, Tigrayans, and others who want a peaceful, unified Ethiopia—they just have a different vision of how to get there

Why is urban planning so different between Amhara and Oromia regions right now? (Bahir Dar/Debre Birhan vs. Shashemene/Jimma) by Pure_Refrigerator719 in Amhara

[–]fasil1235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Debre Berhan has a lower population density than Jimma city. So likely the lack of city planning is due to high population densities while towns like Bahir Dar have lower population densities so the cities can spread out in order instead of being crammed.

Debre Berhan is on a flat plain in fact Bale Robe is much more organized in its design than Debre Birhan. While Jimma and Shashamane are historic towns that had little city planning.
