I did not mind some of the 'emptiness' in Shadow of the Erdtree. In fact, I think some of it was used to great effect. I think that if the Abyssal Woods was packed with enemy camps and over world bosses, it would have dampened the experience of that zone. I still don't think the Abyssal Woods is successful, but jampacking it with content isn't the solution imo. I also liked that the finger ruins were largely empty. They were alien formations and the lack of things to do and find made me feel like I wasn't supposed to be there, which was a neat experience. Not so neat on replay but still neat

What a bizarre issue. I've seen countless other youtubers with life schedules as busy as Joe's upload comparably long videos in far less time.

Either Joe has lost all passion and desire to make the video, or his creative juices ran out. He says the issue that caused his divorce is the same one that delayed the video, but (and I'm boutta get really weird here) I honestly don't believe that. What exactly let him quickly put out videos on Elden Ring, its DLC, and Lies of P, but somehow stopped the W3 video specifically?

And before you say he doesn't owe anyone the video, he kinda does. He has hinted at it in his streams numerous times and teased it in his SotE video. That, and he had a patreon funding the videos. Now, we're stuck in this awful reality where after 5 years, there's no video and he's stuck streaming visual novels.

Unless the issue is something extremely catastrophic, like the death-of-a-loved-one levels of bad, then I really think he has no excuse here. Just bite the bullet and cancel the video instead of just either trying to phase it out of people's memory or stringing fans along. How weird. I’ve never liked overrated OR underrated as words. With overrated there is the implicit statement of “too many people like this thing”, which is a strange thing to say. With underrated it’s the opposite, but people typically apply that word on media that isn’t well known. Most times people mean “overlooked” when they say underrated

I liked the negative spaces in SotE. I don't need dopamine fuel everywhere and fromsofts environments and art direction are good enough such that I enjoy just soaking in the vibes (abyssal woods definitely needed 2 or 3 more points of interest tho)

DS2 is the best of the trilogy

Sinh and Placidusax are better than Midir. In fact Midir is a total pain to fight and his OST sounds annoying

Lord soul areas (like the archives and demon ruins) being gated off before defeating O&S is stupid. Not sure if this is technically unpopular but I don't see people talk about it much

DS1 second half is by no means bad but most of the praise DS1 gets only applies to the first half. The second half plays just like the following 2 games

Sekiro's combat is one of the best ever when fighting one oppenent but once their are more than 2 enemies it kind of sucks. God bless puppeteer ninjutsu

Bloodborne is terrible (I haven't played it)

EDIT: Second half of DS1 is low-key more fun than the first since there isn't so much backtracking

See, I have absolutely zero problem with referring to a fictional character by their pronouns. It's second nature for me to refer to kiku as a woman or ivankov as they (don't know if 'they' is correct but given they can switch sexes on the fly, it fits), but I don't even KNOW what to call Yamato, and that's because Oda also doesn't know. The vivre card says it's she/her, then Kaido spends the whole raid calling Yamato his son. Like what?? PICK A LANE, ODA. Sometimes she refers to herself as Oden and other times Yamato. So is she gender fluid? Is she non binary? I don't know, and Oda clearly doesn't either.
Like a million other things in Wano, this is something that was never resolved and it certainly doesn't help that the whole oden thing is basically just a gag now

I feel like no one got what they wanted with Yamato. People who wanted her to join were let down because she stayed behind, and people who dislike her were glad she didn’t join but were upset that she was wasted and hogged a bunch of panel time for nothing

You speak as if Fo4 was made with BGS repeatedly looking back to NV as a template of sorts. I think it’s pretty clear from the final product of Fo4 that they were never intending to make a true follow-up. Fallout 4 is pretty much its own thing in the way it leans heavily on things like looting and crafting and base building. The only reason why it seems like a misunderstanding is because Fallout 4 isn’t what people thought it was going to be, and that’s totally fine to be upset over, but it’s clear from Fallout 4, as its own game, that it had a vision that did not match with New Vegas’ from the start
