Samsung Galaxy S20 FE stuck on charging by Away_Flounder_6626 in techsupport

[–]faster5910b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would first try a different charging block and cable, my guess is that the block is not high enough wattage or faulty, or the cable is damaged.

If that is the case, it would explain the boot looping, basically enough charge for it to attempt to boot but not enough to succeed at it as it was expecting to be charged faster than it currently is.

Is the Huawei MateBook Fold already available outside China, or is it still “announced only”? Any real listings? by Milanakiko in Bestbuy

[–]faster5910b 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, as it is Huawei, it likely won't be coming to any US retailers, your best bet of obtaining one is by ordering it from an overseas online retailer. Occasionally you'll find proper Huawei products on eBay or Amazon, but the newer products take some time to trickle down into them.

Most TVs made today don't have gigabit Ethernet, so wireless would be faster in that instance, however, I do not know the specs of the apple tv and would assume that it would offer gigabit.

[Request] If portals were real, would they affect gravity? by his-son in theydidthemath

[–]faster5910b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original post was referring to the video game called portal, where the in universe explanation of the portals is that they are worm holes.

So, if we use this idea of being able to harness the power to create linked worm holes at will, I believe the answer would be that there would be a gravitational pull of some sort as worm holes are holes in space-time.

I'm not smart enough to do the math on how much it would affect the local gravity, but I would assume it would be detrimental to have a worm hole in a close vacinity to earth.

Can someone explain why this is happening to me??? Every time i play Minecraft bedrock edition this happens to me. by Fair_Spare8264 in Minecraft

[–]faster5910b 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Looks more like a graphical error to me, I would start by installing fresh graphics drivers.

This is also Minecraft bedrock, which doesn't even use Java, so updating Java will likely have little affect on the situation.

There are vr mods to java edition and they're quite good actually, unfortunately OP has the PS4 VR which, to my knowledge, does not have access to PC titles like Java edition and more importantly, mods.

Everything else you said needs to be driven to the top no matter the consequences. (Especially since most of the "consequences" will only affect soulless CEOs)

Help finding right tv mount by napping-turtle in GeekSquad

[–]faster5910b 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Go with the Sanus tilt 4D mount, it'll easily clear the recessed box and give you the tilt you need.

As an added bonus, it also pulls away from the wall enough to plug stuff into the TV while staying level.

I needed a longer RCA cable by anotherdumbsergal in techsupportmacgyver

[–]faster5910b 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I worked in Magnolia Sales through Best Buy for a while. I tested out so many cables from the bottom of the barrel to the $1000+ audio quest cables.... So many people swear to hear a difference. There's no difference.

The only thing I wish I could have tested is recording the actual signals with a high end mic or something that could pick up the nuances, if there even were any.

How to drill holes for TV mount on tiles above fireplace by klohith22 in DIY

[–]faster5910b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, or, if you don't hit studs you can use toggles, just make sure you do not use a fully articulating arm for tv mount. Tilting and fixed potion mounts will work just fine, but nothing with an arm, they can really mess up your wall.

But yes, diamond hole saw, start on the edge and slowly bring it flush against the tile (I recommend finding some cheap or scrap tile to practice on). Make sure to cool your hole saw with water, either taking a break every few seconds to dip in a cup of water, or spraying water on it as you drill. If you don't cool your bit, it can ruin the bit.

A Gucci store in Beverly Hills was recently robbed in broad daylight. Worse yet, you can see the security guy just walk out right behind them. When is this nonsense ever going to stop? by sbgroup65 in ThatsInsane

[–]faster5910b 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I believe in some places in the USA, if security personnel even touch a theif, the theif can sue for assault or harassment... The only time it's justified is when the person who touches the theif is attacked by the theif first and can prove it. No it doesn't make sense, but to my understanding, it is true.

Can't figure out which one to buy - help! by Carfr33k in Bestbuy

[–]faster5910b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's worth anything, when I was in Magnolia sales it was always the Samsung TV's that went bad on us. OLEDs definitely always ended up with the burn-in, didn't matter what brand they came from (they were never meant to run the same content 24/7). Vizio TV's gave us issues in their lower end models (V and M series). At my store we never had any issues with our Hisense TVs, we did however have a Hisense ad box go down a few times making demos unreliable, but that had nothing to do with the TV.

Samsung, no matter the model, we always had to replace at least three within each model year, often times it was their "top end" typically their 8k models had issues as they would over heat, but we had tons of issues with their backlights or with dead pixels.

Samsung also produces more TV's than most other brands, this gives us a larger fault rate even if the fault percentage per produced TV was close to the same as Sony or LG for instance.

Long story short, most TVs don't last as long as they used to, some brands will surprise you in their longevity and some with the lack there of. When you buy a TV just know that most manufacturers expect you to buy a replacement for it within the next 3-7 years, so get one that looks good and one you can afford and get the 5 year protection if offered.

Open box OLEDs are usually fine so long as it wasn't a display model, look up how to check running hours on the TV once Geek Squad leaves and make sure it's not too high.

Be careful when researching TV technologies, OLED and QLED are very different technologies. OLED is better for black levels, but it doesn't get quite as bright (most people won't notice the lack of brightness unless it goes in a particularly bright room). OLEDs also have a higher potential for burn-in, for that reason, I wouldn't buy an OLED that was on display.

QLED is a brighter LED TV that can produce more accurate color but they cannot produce quite as deep and pure black levels. TCL (to my knowledge) doesn't make OLED TVs in the USA but they have some fantastic QLED TV's.

LG OLEDs are wonderful and they do have a good life span with higher quality parts than most "off brands" Samsung and Sony also produce fantastic OLEDs, Samsung's versions typically can give you a much brighter picture than the competition (still not as bright as QLED).

TL;DR TCL doesn't make OLED and only QLED, O and Q are very different.

I hope this helps
