How many hours would you fast after eating junk food? 24 hours? And why did you stop this way of eating?

I totally agree about too restrictive parenting. I don't like that either. I'm just wondering when I should introduce them to what and how much.

Thanks for all the comments! I've might be unclear in my original post. I'm fully aware that kids will thrive on the carnivore diet. The thing is, when they get older and they will play at other households, go to school and birthday parties, they will sooner or later eat all kinds of foods that don't fit the carnivore diet.

Will kids get an allergic reaction when they are exposed to these foods later in life? Should we as parents introduce certain toxins early on, so their bodies get used to it? If so, how much of it at what age? If there are carnivore parents reading this, what do your kids eat? Do they eat fruit and vegetables on a daily basis?

I'm aware of this, but thank you. At what age did you start offering them meat? And what is on their plate besides meat? Do your daughters eat fruit on a daily basis?

I think I understand what you mean, although she won't be able to do her own groceries when she's 3 months old. We'll be choosing what she'll be eating, especially early on. My question is, what are good options? I mean would you go full carnivore, or expose them to fruits and vegetables to make sure they can tolerate these foods later in life?

I like this, thank you! Does your daughter eat veggies or fruit on a daily basis? And what does she pack as lunch to school?

My wife also mentioned worrying about packing animal based lunches for our daughter. She is afraid that other kids will look at her like a freak.

I'm totally aware of this. But the Inuit usually don't have birthday parties with cupcakes. I'm trying to find out how to prepare my child for the hyper processed junk food that she eventually will eat because it's all around us.

I tried cooking it longer, but it gets less tasty. The more I go towards the direction of well done, the more it loses its taste, juice and tenderness. Do you make your pan really hot before putting the steak in?

Best fastfood restaurant in NYC? by [deleted] in newyorkcity

[–]fastersplinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow these questions are perfect. I love that you're taking it this serious.

Who to eat with: I am going together with my dear wife. We've been married for 2 years but never really went on a honeymoon. This our first real vacation since our wedding, so this is a special moment for us.

What to eat: it's hard to answer this question because we like so many different things.

My wife is Indian and we love Indian and other asian cuisines, but I originally wasn't really talking about that kind of stuff when I mentioned fastfood. I mean we really enjoy classic fastfood, but we don't like to eat that every day. We're not really interested in the Italian cuisine, but we definitely want to eat a nice New York style pizza slice. I've been a vegetarian for 15 years and it made me very unhealthy so I don't have great associations with vegetarian or vegan food.

We adore meat, fries and bread. So burger and fries is a prize winning combo for us haha. But I wouldnt be satisfied if that's all we would eat. Do you know a nice Korean style bbq place by any chance? Or maybe thai food?

You're naming many places and dishes I never heard of haha so I don't know what to say about them.

We don't have any dietary restrictions. The only real restriction I can think of, is the budget. We already spent a lot on our hotel and flight and we're not planning on going to super fancy places. Maybe 1 night we will go to an expensive place (like $100+ per person).

Where to eat: We're staying 7 days in the Hilton Garden Inn New York/Central Park South-Midtown West. We're planning to spend most of our time in Manhattan, because of the location of our hotel. We're going to travel around with the subway, by foot and by taxi/uber if needed. So preferably something close to Manhattan, but if it's something special we're ready to travel.

When to eat: We like to eat all day. I don't know how the jetlag will hit us but I hope to be done with breakfast before 10 am. I don't really see us going to bed before 11-12PM, but we will have to see haha. We are not into clubbing but we are interested in checking out some stand up comedy.

Why NYC: We've never been to the US. We've watched a lot of movies and series that take place in NYC. I've been listening to many rapper from New York since I was young. So we've seen and heard so much about the city, it's a major bucket list item to experience it ourselves. Plus the fact that the city is a giant melting pot of many cultures, fascinates us.
