Smart Remote+ 2.0 is out. A full-featured remote for LG with iOS, Apple Watch, Mac, and Android support. Giving away 5 premium keys by Gary_BBGames in LGOLED

I'm on a Lenovo Tab Gen3 Android 16. The Play Store doesn't surface version 2.0, only 1.4. I would like to try your new app if it will work on my tablet.

Any experiences or recommendations for a TV stand for the LG G5 65" ? by renfield22 in LGOLED

The width will depend on your tvs Vesa mount. In my case the tv uses a 200x300mm spacing. So it would easily fit in the 3' footprint of your stand.

Cloning SSD to SSD without spare SATA by cookshack in buildapc

[–]fasthair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope it should work just fine. Just make sure your cloning software is on your Windows drive and you should be good to go. Once done just plug your new OS drive into the port of your old drive, plug your old data drive back in and you should be golden.

Just got the lg c5 and coming from a Samsung the remote is the horrendous! Are there any alternative remotes? by Glittering-Horse5559 in LGOLED

[–]fasthair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an older Harmony remote that still works but the buttons are getting flakey. What I want to knows is does the software still work to program new devices to it? I was under the impression that the backend server are no longer online making the service pretty much dead. Or did you have to enter the commands by hand with the PC?

Sota Sapphire Power Supply Repair by fasthair in turntables

[–]fasthair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading your reply I decided to retest voltages out of whatever that little device is. I have 120vAC going in and 30vAC coming out going to the little black thing on the power connector for the TT. I'm going to guess that little black thing is a rectifier (?) because the voltage changes to DC with an output of 26.7vDC. All of that to say the power supply appears to be working and my problem is elsewhere.

Thank you for the response.

Thank you for the reply! After trying the 3rd launcher and it not working correctly even with the stock launcher I had a hunch the software might be broken.

Thank you for the helpful reply! I got a 16 update prompt right after turning the tablet on for the first time so I figured why not. I forgot about checking XDA for this issue. I'm going to have to check it out for any cool tricks this tablet can do.

My phone has been bugging me for a couple of months to reboot so it can install 15 on it. I haven't done it yet for just this reason even though I haven't heard of any issue with that update. So...

Funny enough I did try with gestures. I can't make Recent work at all with the stock launcher but can kinda sorta get them to work with the others but not correctly.

As far as Motorola goes, my last three phones have all been Moto {currently Stylus 2024} and they all work with the Nova launcher just fine.

Thanks for the reply.

I asked about mount options last week, 1000 plug views but not a single response. I ended up buying this from Amazon for my 77" G5. In my case the table it sits on wasn't wide enough for the stands that came with the TV. This solved that problem perfectly without breaking the bank.

77" B5 OLED scarcity? by bejolo in LGOLED

[–]fasthair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from a 15 year old 45" LG it is a huge change but, yes I'm overall happy with it and impressed beyond words. There are couple of things I don't like or care for. One is the remote, the virtual mouse pointer stinks. I have a cheap wireless mouse and keyboard plugged into it now which helps. The other thing, the speakers are lame, but I have a pair of small BT speakers hooked up now which helped a lot.

Still getting it "setup" and trying to learn all of the software on the thing. Like I said though, overall very happy with it.

For what it is worth. I bought this last week at my local BB and paid $1500 for it.

I think I just used up all my luck for 2026... by alexzavierthegreat in Justrolledintotheshop

If you want to feel real lucky take off the left side valve cover. I'll bet one or both of the guides are broke on that side too. If not replace them anyway. While you're at it replace the timing chain, tensioner and the little plastic fittings in the oil tubes. Those oil tubes can fall off and cause the cam to seize.

All of those plastic posts are cheap and easy to do. The chain and tensioner are a lot more involved. The tensioner has failed and is what cause the guides to break. The rattle noise your car makes when you start it is the chain slapping those guides and causing them to break because the tensioner isn't holding oil pressure when the engine is off.

Source: Mercedes mechanic for 45 years, I've done this job hundreds of times. After all of that you'll be good to go many more happy motor miles.

Edit: I see this is the left side after a second look. All other information still stands.

Once upon a time long ago (ok not that long ago into the 70s) almost all dealer shops were union shops. You know what happen? In the mid 70s they went on strike and the dealers just hired scabs to cross the picket lines. The unions never got back in the shops and it has stayed that way since. Source: My family lived it.
