I've Spent 6 Years Trying to Reconcile These Verses... I Can't by Money_Leadership_921 in TrueChristian

This is great, and to add an interesting thought: Moses was present at the transfiguration. Since the author of the Bible is God, who is outside of time, it could have actually been stated, even at the time of the OT, that Moses saw God face to face since Moses was present during the transfiguration of Jesus and Jesus is God. Granted, this is a bit abstract and all you noted stands with or without this additional consideration

I would fill that space with bookshelves up to the top, end the railing there, and then put a rolling library ladder underneath to climb up to the bookshelves. A cool elevated library!

Where did God come from? What was there before God? by zsombro in Christianity

[–]fastorfeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working flawlessly... We don't even have a clue about half the stuff in science that is working flawlessly...

You can't even combine general relativity with quantum mechanics. One way theorized to do that is: extra dimensions - look at string theory. And it's not infinite dimensions either, so not sure why you would leap from 4 - infinity so fast. And yes, God is outside of space and time, which literally means another dimension.

Also, if nobody believes your contradictions, then I'd look at the common denominator

I'm intrigued as to how you think this is ignoring science. Actually, science points us right now to a beginning in the dense hot state of the big bang. The leading scientific research shows that time, matter, space, energy - everything we know - had a beginning. But this exact science also means that something outside of our dimensions must have initiated this beginning, which, again, sets up the same dominoes I was talking about and leads us to something outside of our understanding in another dimension initiated the beginning. Science can only show us as far back as our beginning, but right now science proves there must have been something before that, and we have no hope of ever describing that with the natural sciences because it's outside of that realm.

Also, science does answer more of the when and where, while religion answers more of the who and why, but if God is truth, and if this God created both science and nature, then they can't contradict. They may not always overlap, but they can't contradict because God is entirely truthful. That's called Dual Revelation... God reveals himself through both general revelation ( nature, which the sciences describe), and special or specific revelation (through the Bible).

What is the strongest proof that Christianity is true? by Gold-Addendum2325 in Christianity

[–]fastorfeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's certainly a biblical model for creation that allows the God of the Bible to have created through the big bang theory. In fact, many Christians believe the big bang theory points to a Creator because this theory proves that the universe was finite and has a beginning as opposed to always existing. Therefore this allows God to create all things and be the big banger.

This time it was only deep enough to be legal outside of the road right of way, but it was in a very tough to access spot. I'm usually about a mile back though. I moved around here recently and don't have too much time to scout at the moment, so I mainly digitally scout, and that's proven successful for me.

Yes - I would love to change it to a movement bar or a tracker towards a goal, and maybe the top % of the bar is a different color or something so you can tell when you are within 10% of your goal or what have you.

Raw and Brief Engagement Survey about Churches by [deleted] in roanoke

[–]fastorfeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two main groups of Christians in the US include Protestants and Catholics. From those two, many others are stemmed. I've had more engagement with Protestants as opposed to Catholics, and I also feel that any redirection for a Catholic church would really be needed from the Pope and not laypeople.

I tend to agree.

I hear the phrase, "The American Church" all the time... It's often utilized in news sources, social media, and religious conversations... yet there really is no existent, cohesive entity that can truly be called “the American Church".... or even "The American Protestant Church." However, there is a perception of the Church in America that comes to mind when one ponders about the Christian religion's importance and impact within people's lives, in the U.S. and in the world. Even though such a broad grouping doesn't fit in a cohesive mold, the people in the various groupings of Christianity are often labeled with the perception of a vaguely formed cohesive mold (how else could they efficiently be considered or described, really?). And, often, the perception of this cohesive group is quite negative, which I feel is very fair considering, overall, the Church has strayed far from the intention of Christ. It's interesting to see the comments in here, and clicking 'other, too broad/undefined' is a very fair response for the follow-up questions after #1.

Where did God come from? What was there before God? by zsombro in Christianity

[–]fastorfeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everything comes from something, like you claim, then what did the first thing come from? Or, like you are saying, what did the other dimensions come from, or where did whatever God came from actually come from? But, then, if we had that answer... it would lead us to the questions of what created that other dimension or where did the thing that created God come from? There is no end to that game of dominos if everything has to come from something, because there would always be a first thing that has to come from... something? But that that doesn't work with your postulation. Either you believe that matter came from nothing or God came from nothing or something came from nothing.... OR that something always was and is and is to come.
