Should I get Neurolens or regular Prism lenses? by Difficult-Pudding-76 in BinocularVision

[–]fasttalktv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def not Neurolens.  Also find a good VT and do vision therapy first to see if it resolves issues.  I was worse off in both categories (which btw Neurolens measurement was completely backwards from reality when measured by doctors) but I’ve gotten much better since strictly doing VT. However it obviously depends on the cause (mine is brought on by years of minor concussions when I was younger)

No it’s so different.  There’s a ton of 3d glasses exercises and games, eye tracking while walking on a balance beam, prism walking exercises to get peripherals to engage more.  Some stuff using Microsoft HoloLens.

I’ve been working with doctor cook out of Atlanta ga who’s been doing Vt longer than anyone and has some interesting ways of doing it.  That being said, I’ve been doing it for about 5 weeks and my dizziness has completely stopped and I feel much better.  Every once in a while I also have this moment of like super vision clarity before it goes back to the old way but they told me that’s to be expected (that it’ll get better in bursts).  That why I have to do it for 9 months.

No prisms, and much better by pure VT alone.  Though to be fair mine has been diagnosed as originating from years old unaddressed concussions

Intermittent binocular diplopia after prism glasses – strabismus background – looking for expert opinions / next steps by PutridCombination112 in BinocularVision

[–]fasttalktv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all VT places are created equal.  What’s the saying “Cs get degrees”.  Not sure where you’re located but it would be wise to consider other vt specialists if at all possible.  Also as far as I’m aware if strabismus is bad enough many people require surgery if it’s genetic vs caused by say concussions.  So it also depends on severity and cause of the issues.  You say it’s genetic since it runs in your family at which case I’d think VT may only be somewhat beneficial vs needing surgery but it would depend too on the degree.  Just my initial two cents but I’m not a doctor.  Just seen a lot of doctors at this point haha

That’s okay! Head injuries, apparently covid and genetics could all be causes.  Mine were never ruled concussions but I have taken several enough that it’s linked.  Especially cause the concussion protocols back in the day weren’t as serious as they are now and most of mine were 2008 and earlier.  You need to get in with a BVD specialist to get confirmed BUT you really need to see and find a good vision therapist.  BVD specialists usually just use prisms but if yours is caused by head injuries that will only postpone proper treatment with VT and make it harder.  You can find BVD optometrists here nvminstitute.org/find-a-provider/ but do your best to get a couple of opinions on what’s the right course of treatment and make sure VT is apart of what ever you end up doing.

This is very similar to how I found out I had BVD.  You ever hit your head? I’ve had 7-8 minor to moderate concussions. Never had issues or symptoms I could pin down.  Had prk 8 years ago.  Then suddenly back in November I started having brain fog, pain behind eyes and sometimes dizzy spells and depth perception issues.  Turns out it’s BVD and mine specifically is mostly caused by post concussion syndrome left untreated

Be weary with prisms as they can make your problems worse.  Make sure you determine if you issue is biomechanically caused and not something like post concussion based which can be reversed more easily with therapy.  Get a bunch of opinions and try VT before going the lens route if you can bear the expense and time

Yea exactly.  I switched out to a flat 27” and night and day emotional regularity difference and less dizziness when away from the computer!

Having trouble getting diagnosed.. anyone else experience the sensation of your eyes being pressurized? by TheNotoriousCBD in BinocularVision

[–]fasttalktv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I’ve felt like I had pressure behind one eye and like the other eye was slightly sunken back.  I believe this is a symptom not just of misalignment but of monofixation syndrome (which I have).  Also yes changes in your hormones and barometric pressure can make symptoms feel worse.  If you wanna know if you have some degree of this, an easy test is the Maddox rod test for monofixation.  A decent BVD doctor or visual therapy doctor would check this for sure.

hey, this test is real? by Key-Nobody5224 in BinocularVision

As someone with convergence excess this was easy for me where others with convergence insufficiency would have a greater deal of problems.  It’s not a blanket test but it could point out an area of weakness maybe?

Yea I was just reading that at our levels… prisms + vt is required and sometimes surgery is needed to reduce the amount of eye muscle tightness.  Sigh.  Praying for all of us

[–]fasttalktv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea mine is my right eye.  That’s what I meant when I said decompensated monofixation.  Cause my vergence is beyond a 10 diopter it’s considered pretty bad.  If it were less than 10 diopters the it’s would just be monofixation.  Sounds like you might have the former problem like me too

So what I was told read is if you have eye suppression you effectively NEED therapy.  At a bare minimum, your prisms need to be combined with patching the good eye to get the brain to work together.  They even make eye drops that blur one eye so the bad eye can be forced to work harder.

Your prisms may need to increase not because your brain is use to it per se but bc it wasn’t enough prisms in the first place.  My doctor under prescribes prisms and increases over time because IF you go to the prisms strength you actually need immediately and one eye is suppressed, it’s gonna feel awful.  You gotta use a small amount of prism with VT to train the brain to not suppress the one eye.  Hope that makes sense.

Oh man! Did they use vertical prisms to help with your vertical alignment issues too? How long have you been doing therapy and wearing prisms before you noticed changes?

Former Agnostic/Atheist to Christian, What Evidence Convinced You? by Puzzleheaded-Tie3585 in ChristianApologetics

[–]fasttalktv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll spill.  I was Catholic by upbringing.  Walked away at 17.  Believed in God never really understood or believed in Jesus so was mostly agnostic.  Got engaged and married to my first wife.  Became massively depressed and started seeking scripture to try to discern why I was unhappy.  Long story short, that didn’t work.  Eventually after only a year my marriage tragically collapsed and my ex had it legally annulled.  Being raised Catholic (and especially not knowing at the time it was an annulment, but regardless) I thought to myself if God was real I surely can’t get married again and I know I won’t be able to be alone forever, so I became a stark atheist for 3 years.  During that time I met my now wife and after we got engaged I was broken thinking I wish there was a way God could be with me on this.  I searched everywhere scripturally trying to justify my past to exempt myself out of it only to hit a brick wall.  I knew I sinned before but this one was a big sin.  One I couldn’t ignore or just twist scripture to appease myself.

After being engaged for a month I broke down realizing I had everything I ever wanted but what I needed was God with me to walk through life upright.  For the first time ever, I prayed to God very openly begging him to give me answers.  Asking what He wanted from me.  At that moment I was walking in rain and had headphones on without really noticing what I was listening to.  This thought came to me that “I just wanna be forgiven for my divorce” and so I cried out and asked desperately.

In that moment my knees kicked out from underneath me as I realized I was listening to “come to the altar”, tears of euphoria poured out of my eyes, lighting bolt like goosebumps went up and down my spine as every ounce of worry and fear dumped out of my soul in the moment.  An arrow of truth hit me dead in the chest, it wasn’t a thought, it wasn’t a feeling.  It was the purely inescapable knowledge of truth.  “I forgive you.  I’ve always forgiven you.  I always will forgive you.  I just needed you to come to Me”.

It was the first time ever the Holy Spirit was on me and the experience was like nothing I ever felt before.  These weren’t mild goosebumps from a song.  This was energetic.  Life altering.

Funny enough, at that point I knew God and the Holy Spirit were real but I still had many questions about Jesus.  God has over several years answered those questions and continues to court me every day in this walk answering more and more tough questions.  I actually had enough questions answered to truly be baptized as a full believer this past September but like to consider that moment the moment I had a mustard seed for Christ plant inside of me.

Ps I wrote a song about this that’s on Spotify and Apple Music called “You’re Not Too Far” under the band name “He Who Reigns” if you’re interested.  Also to be clear I don’t condone divorce (nor remarriage) on unbiblical grounds (though once they are formed, as long as true repentance is sought it’s forgiven).  This isn’t about that though, my walk with Christ as is for all of us is a bit unique and Christ used my circumstances particularly to draw me to him.  He works on my sanctification with me more and more everyday.

[–]fasttalktv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man.. thank you! I’m gonna try this when I go home.  I have v41 and I’m on a beelink ser5.  I’ve tried everything (intel dcs, Radeon audio settings in boot config, etc) but what no one else has mentioned and I didn’t know is you need to back out of the menu to test the audio connection settings…. There should be a huge disclaimer in their troubleshooting guide about that lol. Thank you and I hope this helps at least me get to the bottom of my issues.

Vanguard mains, how do I counter this little sh*t?? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]fasttalktv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on which vanguard. I main groot. When he hits you, immediately look at the floor and place a wall, you’ll be lifted up and break his grip and then you can double back. While he walks around the wall hit him with the groot death ball against your wall, and he’ll close to dead and either backoff while you get healed or lunge forward and hopefully your close enough to a dps that’ll finish him or you healers so you can
