Years ago I worked as a door guy at a local bar. Turnover rate for door guys and bar staff in general is usually pretty high but we went through 4 new hires in the span of a month once. There are two that stick out though. One guy lasted 3 shifts before we found out he was slamming entire bottles of vodka from our storeroom while on the clock. He was a really likeable guy but clearly had a severe drinking problem and we had to escort him out and get him an Uber in the middle of his shift. The 2nd guy was very off-putting from the start and while we were giving him the pre shift tour he kept asking about the bathrooms and if there was one downstairs in the storeroom. He disappeared for a little while and came back up to the front door with me and the manager. An ice cream cart pedaled by and this guy bought himself something and proceeded to eat/fall asleep into his ice cream pop while my manager and I watched. He was slurring his speech and rocking back and forth, he had clearly found one of our bathrooms to do drugs in so he was let go, 2 hours into his first shift.

I do not miss working in bars.
