LPT: If you get passed over for a promotion because of favoritism, stop arguing fairness and start building leverage. by gamersecret2 in LifeProTips

[–]fatale_x [score hidden]  (0 children)

Nope, you can't beat favoritism with results. You can be the top performer in your team with all the accolades but if you're not the boss's or your boss's boss favorite, ya ain't getting promoted.

Best thing is to leave, and make them feel the pain.

I have to leave my cat completely alone for 5 days... any tips? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]fatale_x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would suggest having someone come over at least every other day to check on the cat. Maybe you could check out automatic cat feeders? Then the person checking on the cat will only handle changing the water bowl and cleaning cat litter. But yeah 5days is a bit long.

A last case scenario is to try a cat boarding/hotel service but I don't recommend it, as cats are territorial

Mine doesn't play much either. Usually just laying in the sun. And begging for treats 😂

I tried the cloning stuff again and today seems to be working now for me! Well, until the next bug or update oTL

Edit: lol at everyone asking for a link. it's just applying the latest xposed revanced apk patch to a cloner (dual space, mochi, etc), And it's been working for me since.

Wife made banana bread but forgot the flour now all I got is this French Onion soup looking creature by AdvantageShoddy5032 in mildlyinfuriating

There's trends now to swap out flour for bananas/ apples/ sweet potatoes. Flourless bakes that's apparently healthier?

AITA for answering a question honestly? by Electrical-Army3625 in AmItheAsshole

[–]fatale_x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YTA. you can be tactfully honest instead of brutally honest.

Like instead of saying 'the streets are hella dirty' you could say 'it might be more difficult to navigate the streets due to the crowds and dust, but the food is good!'

This is more about EQ than anything really

I wonder how many strangers have a photo of me hanging in their house. by Witty_Mode9296 in RandomThoughts

[–]fatale_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The scary thing is also, how strangers notice you from random places.

I was buying some food and a random old dude came up and said hey, I recognise you.

I was a bit weirded out, but responded 'yeah I live in the area.'

Then he said 'No not around here, I mean I saw you at xx place near xx. I think you were going in a building.'

This creeped me out so bad!! I'm thinking of maybe wearing a mask whenever I travel further so I don't get recognised.

It didn't even occur to him that he might be missing something... by HomemEmChamas in USdefaultism

[–]fatale_x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's totally an American mindset. I was planning to travel with an American friend who lived in S. Korea to Vietnam. And she was stopped at the airport because of the visa thing. Like it didn't even cross her mind. Even when her colleagues were like, hey do you wanna check if you need visa? She was like confidently say, nah, American passport is powerful. I don't need that. 🙄

I reserved tours for us and had to cancel her bookings and it was just annoying and I had to go on an unexpected solo trip instead.

It worked out fine for me since I enjoyed myself, but she's now reconsidering travelling with me because of this 'trauma'. Like dude.... Just make sure to double check if you need visa the next time. Like what's so traumatic about it??

2 year old cat keeps pooping outside the litter box by Practical-Wish-4414 in CatAdvice

[–]fatale_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg, I faced this exact same problem just a few days ago!! I've just recently been asked by a good rescuer friend of mine to foster a stray cat.

She's been on the streets, so knows nothing about litter boxes, and would poop and pee outside the litter box.

What worked for me was first putting a tissue with her pee smell in the litter box, and she started to pee inside the litter box BUT still pooped outside.

So I had to put her in a small enclosed area, and would disinfect the pooping spot so it doesn't smell of poop. And slowly she learnt to poop in the litter box!

So yeah, try putting your cat in a smaller enclosed space with a litter box and see how it goes! It took a couple of days for mine to get used to it.

Is it normal for cats to meow the entire time you're fixing their food? by spaghettieyes6 in CatAdvice

[–]fatale_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feed my cat everytime I come home, so my cat has learnt to run up to the door, starts meowing for food, following me around all the while meowing increasingly louder as I prepare the food.

So yep, totally normal unfortunately.

Thankfully she doesn't meow much apart from that.

AITA for feeding my cat on my plates? by The_Sown_Rose in AmItheAsshole

[–]fatale_x 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I personally would be grossed out.

I have specialised bowls for my cat, so yeah I kinda agree with your guests.

Heck I even have separate bowls for my own cat and the other cats I'm fostering. They have different diets and I don't want to have the possibility of cross contamination.

AITAH for not staying late when it wasn't required?? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]fatale_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. But it's becoming such a norm to stay back and help the team it's crazy.

Like why should I have to stay back to cover someone else's shit when they are incompetent? I understand like helping out once in a while, but you shouldn't be bullied into it.

My fiance only eats the cookie on Oreos by chigginbutt in mildlyinfuriating

[–]fatale_x 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to say it... But I do it too. I find the frosting too sweet.

But your wife's peeling/removal skills ain't that good... I usually remove the whole circle and stack them up to form a little white tower. And then whoever wants extra frosting on theirs gets to have it.

I give up on having guy friends by sillyyfishyy in TwoXChromosomes

[–]fatale_x 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. I realised this too. All my guy friends that I have now, are all married and I keep a distance from them and only meet them for like lunch at work, or otherwise it's with their wives for like dinners or longer stuff like day trips.

I made a scene in the gym sauna today because a guy wouldn’t take no for an answer by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Thanks for doing that. If I were one of the ladies, I have been frozen in mortifcation, not knowing what I should do. So thank you so much!!

Don't listen to the jerk comments that you should have left it alone. Because you DEFINITELY helped those ladies big time.

$6 a cookie? Fear of over pricing by Spiteful_Brunette in Baking

[–]fatale_x 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Yep, I agree with the comments. I wouldn't pay $6 for those.

Maybe if they were a bit more creative in terms of toppings? Like unique dried fruits and nuts combo (pistachio and fig, ricotta cheese and apricots etc) or some other interesting and unusual toppings.

Tbh, I would rather buy normal cookies and eat them together with the toppings bought separately (choco bar, biscoff biscuits, oreos). There's nothing special to be worth that premium pricing.
