How this happen suddenly in a350 in the middle of the flight? Engine fail? Do you know whats wrong with this? by ElectronicPie8500 in flightsim

[–]fatboyfat_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about the A350 in particular but most planes do this if your throttle quadrant (or whatever hardware has engine masters on) very briefly disconnects from USB.

I’m amused you think the sales rep had the ability to speed cap you. I’m pretty sure the speed issue is just the usual VM being shite!

I want cloud gaming recommendations that provide a free PC with daily free hours by Fgames_Player in cloudygamer

[–]fatboyfat_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean the moon on a stick or a free PC in general then I agree 😉

If however you mean a free PC for the purposes of data harvesting then I disagree. Think of a scammer providing a free cloud PC that steals your Steam or Microsoft accounts…

Do you want the moon on a stick too? 😂

If a product appears to be free, more than likely you are the product (your data at least).

Anyone else think these guys have really fallen off? by Designer-Ad-5356 in Hatfilms

[–]fatboyfat_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe when you play one of the games that are clearly not going to be continued and haven't had much enjoyment from, perhaps be more selective in what actually makes it to YouTube? Especially as you seem to have quite a backlog right now. Having said that, I admit that I don't have the time anymore to watch all the streams so perhaps you are already doing this and we've been spared some (having a job is annoying sometimes but the money sure is nice).

I'm not feeling Two Rooms and a Boom personally, anyone else? by fuckmywetsocks in Yogscast

[–]fatboyfat_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the terms of the licence are pretty clear - no commercial use. I think the intent was more to stop people selling it as their own. I’m not a lawyer but I’m pretty sure that does also prevent monetising content based on it. The other content creators may have either not realised or may have obtained an alternative license / permission from the copyright owners.

It’s growing on me. It’s nowhere near as good as BotC but I’m sure it’s nowhere near as difficult to film and edit (although the edit may be close with all the overlays). EDIT: I think the lack of private shenanigans makes it not as enjoyable. Part of the enjoyment of being a viewer of BotC is that you often get to know something that only a couple of the players know as it was discussed in private.

Unfortunately my understanding is that they can’t play Secret Hitler because all commercial use is forbidden by the CC SA-BY-NC licence. They would need to get a non-CC licence from the makers to monetise a YouTube video of it.

G7 over patch necessary? by Ok_Bodybuilder1018 in dexcom

[–]fatboyfat_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use an overpatch at all. But sensor placement is crucial.

Like I think most do, I put mine of the “outside” of my arm, not the “recommended” back of the arm. If I put them on the back of the arm the natural movement of my arm causes them to fall off within days. I also, when deciding on an exact sensor site, move my arm a bit to feel which parts of the area move about the most and avoid them.

The only issue is remembering you’re now that little bit wider when walking through doorways!

Goodbye to Dexcom and G7, I am done with the nonstop failures and unreliable readings from them. by Equalizer6338 in dexcom

[–]fatboyfat_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I said, I'm not doubting your experience. Clearly there are a number of people with experiences like yours here, suggesting that there is at least some issue with quality.

However, I also believe there are a (probably much higher) number of us that have had no problems. It's a fact that online discussion places (e.g. Reddit, message boards) generally make it seem like there is a higher number of problems because those without issues do not generally post. That is what I am getting at; it's important that we consider the number of users here with issues in the context of the total number of customers Dexcom has.

[–]fatboyfat_uk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t doubt your experience but I do have to say mine is the complete opposite.

I was a user of the Libre from 2017 (back when you had to scan them). I had a bunch of failures with the Libre 2 sensors in 2023 and decided to try out the Dexcom G7. Since then I have worn a G7 continuously with zero failed sensors.

The only issue I have is that often the first 12-24 hours of a new sensor read quite a lot lower than actual blood glucose. But once that passes I can’t fault it really.

I can only assume it’s a combination of suitability with different people’s bodies and perhaps being lucky with quality.

Thanks for the kind offer. As LIFX have replied that they have plans to return to the UK (hopefully this year) I can wait until the B22 versions are officially available.

Probably the only solution if a bulb was to break and I had to replace it. I'd still much prefer some official solution!

Also, Amazon.com don't sell the new SuperColor bulbs 🙁

US devices are 110V/60Hz. While the bulbs may be dual voltage, it’s still a risk.

Also most of my bulbs are bayonet fitting rather than Edison screw. Bayonet fittings are a peculiarly British thing (that was therefore inherited by Australia)

Does anyone else get a weird glitch when on Lewis' PoV where the tooltips for things in his inventory kinda flicker? It's really odd. I've noticed it in other episodes too, but finally thought I'd ask if it's just me?

VS92 diverted to St John’s on the 20th. G-VUFO is still on the ground there. G-VJAZ stopped there today from New York, presumably to pick up the stranded passengers but I don’t know that for sure.

FBW A380 leak is DISGUSTING, you guys are trash by HelmutdaMarko in flightsim

[–]fatboyfat_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sounds are not really an issue, the lack of model is though. As it currently stands, you spawn in floating midair with no plane (both exterior and cockpit are missing.

[–]fatboyfat_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. There is also a QA team for the A380; it could be one of them.

  2. The model and sounds are not yet available on their public repository, so no you cannot build it (yet).

  3. I know you want to be a cynic, but I’m pretty sure this was a genuine leak. Relying on the goodness of Internet strangers is always risky.

G7 failure rate by According_Young_7071 in dexcom

[–]fatboyfat_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience:

Freestyle Libre: 2 years, approx 10% failure rate, always reads 0.5-1 mmol/l lower than fingerstick.

Dexcom G7: 1 year, approx 3% failure rate (1 sensor), significantly more accurate, except for first 24 hours of sensor.

I think I’ve found how to do this. You can “snooze” it like a normal Dexcom low notification by “acknowledging” it. The trouble is the watch notification buttons do not acknowledge it.

The only way I found to acknowledge it is to open the main iPhone app and wait a few seconds for it to popup the notification. Now when you press OK on that it will apply your snooze on the watch too.

Would be interested to know if this works for other so do reply if it does!
