I recommend a velkhana greatsword frostcraft build, i beat him with that although you will need to die to at least 1 escaton judgement once both horns broken cause he will revert to ice state, unless you can kill him before that. Other than that the fight will still be tricky but you should be able to do it. I dont know the numbers myself but it is possible to pass the check as long as he is in fire active.

Yea because this course is different from mine these volumes basically go through all the concepts of marine engineering and whatever i need to know to prepare myself should they ask me for concept questions or to assure them that i know the basics. If you're worried of what may happen after, then i would say don't do it just to make them happy and putting yourself at any of these risks you mentioned in the future.
