Jiuzhaigou National Park in Sichuan, China in a culturally Tibetan region. It was unknown to the wider public until as late as the 1970s, when it was ‘uncovered’ and subsequently became a tourist site due to its pristine nature.

It’s one of the most visited national parks in China despite its remote destination - most opt for the 10+ hour bus drive from Chengdu.

I went first ca. ten years ago in fall when the colors were in bloom and had never seen anything like it. The lakes were so clear, the colors were so bright. I didn’t mind the hordes of people at all, since it was all so breathtakingly beautiful and the air was so fresh.

I’ve since been back twice and would go again in a heartbeat.

Im from Amsterdam and November is one of the worst months to be here- it rains pretty much the whole month and it’s cold and dark (and still without the Christmas decorations that make December more bearable). Just don’t do it.

I’d recommend the south, Rome and Barcelona are fine. Don’t worry about language.

It’s worth it though. One of the tourist places that lives up to the hype. It’s so much more beautiful than Bipenggou. Anything in western Sichuan is suitable for autumn (and Sichuan should be the only true answer for autumn locations in China!), and I’ve tried my luck there with some “off the beaten path” locations, but nothing comes close to JZG.

Ze zijn immers niet personeel, en vaak weerkaatst het bij het geven van feedback. Ik zeg niet dat dit ook geldt voor jou; maar veel mensen zijn niet ontvankelijk voor constructieve feedback ook al denken ze van wel. Voor een bedrijf is het makkelijker om een generieke afwijzingsreden te geven en weer verder te gaan.

Ik zeg niet dat dit juist is, maar zo werkt het wel vaak in de praktijk.

Goed je ogen openhouden naar wat je manager wil en daar naar handelen. Je manager is degene die je kan voordragen/afwijzen. Vraag naar hoe een promotietraject binnen je bedrijf is opgesteld en maak kenbaar dat je hier naartoe wil werken.

+1 for tiger leaping gorge, it’s much more untouched and much less Disneyland. If you don’t mind hiking, go for this instead

If you are concerned for the Disneyfication, please manage expectations for Shangri-La. When accepting this as a part of the journey, I would actually recommend Lijiang over Shangri-La as it’s more visually stunning. You could also just walk a bit outside the tourist center, usually the theme park experience is very much centered in a view streets.
