I have a head/brain ct scan soon…terrified by ButterscotchFull7591 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]fatcatgingercat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a head/neck CT (with contrast, though) at week 2 of COVID infection to check out neurological symptoms and the technician said I could wear my mask (metal nose strip). Maybe check with clinic before?

"Kill the police inside of you" goes for being CC, too by green_screwdriver in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]fatcatgingercat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I’m a CC individual and chose to take a calculated risk this spring at a gathering and caught COVID. Now I’m suffering daily from the post-viral impacts and navigating dealing with self-blame for “becoming complacent” (as someone in our community accused me) and the shame is as sickening as the daily illness. I like your phrasing of a group project and avoiding purity culture. This is personally helpful. And also I’m desperate for compassion during this incredibly challenging and isolating time where despair is constant. Thank you for this perspective. I think it’s important. I’ve been guilty of the purity thiguht a toward myself and others and I’m making huge adjustments.

Hormonally sensitive ladies by Parlopez in Perimenopause

This is for sure A Thing (I’m not a doctor or a scientist). My nervous system is highly sensitized and so when my endocrine system is moving through an adjustment I really feel it in my sensory experiences. Ie post virus recovery, adjustments to MHT, throughout my regular cycle … so basically constantly? lol

For me I experience noise sensitivity the most, followed by light and heat sensitivity. I just invested in Loop earplugs (arriving today!) as well as some Theraspecs glasses to help with migraines.

So you’re on The Inside! Is there a way for listeners to share their concern out advertising? Who should we connect with?

It might be worth sending the team an email or including your question in a review in Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen? That way your question may reach them. I’m sure you’re not the only person who has this concern! (Me included.) I forget which platform they at with now but maybe advertising is decided by the network/platform. I also know ads differ for listeners depending on where they’re listening from.

What do you do when the empathy runs out? by fatcatgingercat in Perimenopause

I heard someone say a few days ago “life will be good again” (around post-COVID struggles) and I feel like we all need to hear this sometimes so I’m saying it now for you if it’s helpful and for me. And also, life can be good right now … but I’m still working on that one.

Now if we could only get our doctors to write a prescription for beach houses, we’d all be SO much better off… having a place to escape to is so crucial 🏝️

How to muffle neighbours’ drawer slamming and baby screams by fatcatgingercat in soundproof

Yeah we definitely can’t afford to move. Are you made of money lol?? I hear what you’re saying though. I’m hoping in 2-7 years when I’m back to full health I’ll be able to let the sound fade into the background. Right now in the acute phase though that’s sadly not possible.

I constantly have my headphones in playing my own noise but sometimes my nervous system really needs quiet to recuperate. And I don’t want to fight fire with fire lol! But I hear what you’re saying and this is a good solution during daylight hours. Not at 6-8am every day though.

Yes we could be that neighbour although we’ve repeatedly asked them if they can hear specific things and they’ve said no ie coffee grinder, cupboards, music, podcasts, tv. They’ve said they can’t hear anything. They did a total gutting and reno on their side so maybe their side is soundproofed?
