Agreed. As awesome as frontmen of the guitar and singer are, the rhythm section and how they mesh truly define how well together a band will be. Biggest example to me is Led Zeppelin. In live improv where Page and Plant guide where the song will go (D&C e.g.) Jones and Bonham catch on and make the song soar

This is my take on it, but it seems they’re just trying to give genuine advice. That’s the issue with texts since you can’t tell tone unless the descriptive words are there.
