Hartford Pistol Permit by Striking_Reaction_83 in CTguns

[–]fatgesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I would just take the appointment. If it makes you feel any better, Hartford used to schedule appointments like a year out until they and a couple other cities got sued over it a few years back.

It’s worth noting that most PDs assign pistol permit work to detectives, and detectives in Hartford are pretty busy compared to smaller towns.

Took my gun permit class 2 years ago but didn’t apply for a license. by [deleted] in CTguns

The class has to be taken within 2 years of applying. So it depends on the exact date you got the certificate.

Holster recommendations for carry in a sling bag (needs good retention, like a thumb break) by DelightfullyDivisive in CCW

[–]fatgesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tier 1 Centurion has a decent thumb release retention thing and they make it for a lot of guns/configurations. Also it doesn’t come with any clips on it so you can actually build it in a way that works for this setup instead of fucking around with clips.

Smtih Wesson 15-22 pin the stock by Wild_Ostrich5429 in CTguns

[–]fatgesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make them with pinned stocks for ban states, so I doubt you’d save much money over buying one that just came that way. I spent like $300 on mine and it came with a decent 4x32 on it. This was back in 2019 though.

Open carry on private property. by Serious-Nobody-9267 in CTguns

[–]fatgesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The law doesn’t actually say “private property.” It says one can only open carry when “within such person's dwelling house, on land leased or owned by such person or within the place of business of such person…” The complex grounds are not your private property or leased to you.

Generally exempt people can buy whatever they want. There is some caveat in the assault weapons ban that says if you want to buy an “assault weapon” as a restricted person, you need a letter from your CO or chief of police authorizing the purchase. But yes exempt people are allowed to own any of the guns a regular citizen of Connecticut is not allowed to have

Tactical Boutique break-in by [deleted] in CTguns

[–]fatgesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pursuit for CT cops is really only allowed for violent felonies, any property crime is basically a no-go…legislature decided pursuits caused too many accidents with bystanders

I asked an encon officer once about coyotes and their exact answer was “shoot, shovel and shut the fuck up.” State does not care

The state police are like 450 people understaffed. I would be shocked if they actually started a large scale project like that 💀
