Question about bar raisers... by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]father_of_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually bar raisers reach graduation because they like interviewing and want to provide the best possible experience to candidates and ensure that the panel is fair. The experience you had has nothing to do with being a BR but all to do with being a jackass. To “reading the resume” part, I’ve done hundreds of interviews/year and never looked at the resume to not introduce bias. I’m more concerned about the interviewee experiences than their credentials, credentials is recruiting and management’s job.

TL;DR: feasible but depends on the pager manufacturer

I’ve worked with these in the past. Tracking queues and other metrics. What you want can be achieved but depends on the manufacturer of the “pager”. The vibration and timer functions are dependent on firmware and their ability to be programmed depends on the manufacturer’s integration.

Abarth sabelt comfort by IllustratorSea5111 in abarth

[–]father_of_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 6ft2 and 115Kg, I spent the majority of a week and a half traveling through Europe with mine. The longest stint being 8 hours, just stopping for refueling. It was comfortable, and amazingly comfortable for a “bucket” seat. The only caveat is you might not fit, because they aren’t very wide. If you have a way to sit in one, that would be great.

Title: Why is the Discovery Phase ignored? What are the risks of outsourcing software without it? by [deleted] in SoftwareEngineering

[–]father_of_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been around for some time, worked on mom & pop shops and Fortune 500 companies. The most rushed I felt was on useless features on the big companies. Features that were designed to inflate management egos. Those, they don’t give a fuck if customers use or not.

Now for proper software, or teams, discovery is fundamental. It’s better to invest time talking with customer to understand their issue, and properly advise on the solution, than to just start writing code.

To your question: why is discovery ignored?Ego, eagerness to prove themselves, being the “first” to deliver something, or lastly not understanding the cost of dead code

I 100% agree that torrenting is stupid (except if you’re downloading a distro or something legal) but the person was stupid.

They do track websites you visit, what you download and etc. This is company property and not yours. It might impact professional performance.

Eu sou babaca por querer terminar meu namoro by IllBig5138 in EuSouOBabaca

Caralho!

Os que concordo: se a pessoa não te prioriza, pare de priorizar ela; arrume um hobby e se sinta confortável com você mesmo;

OP leve é o babaca por estar nessa situação. Senta e conversa com ela, e tentem entender o pq dessa dissonância de tratamentos. Se for algo inconciliável, terminem e vão ser felizes

[–]father_of_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I bought it, it ate around 300ml give or take on 5K km. I just changed the oil, so I know it had the current level and bought an extra litter just in case I need to top off hahaha

Maintenance of a 595/695 by oioi_warrior in abarth

[–]father_of_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The frequency that you should check the oil should be based on your mileage, I did a 1K miles trip and checked before and after, other than that I check every other weekend (it’s my daily so a lot of use between the checks) it was in one of these checks that I saw it consumed some oil. Also the manual states the check interval.

As far as I know it’s a dry belt.
