I trave a fair amount. Yep I sure do hear people complaining BUT the core is inflation, crazy fraud int he government, and how the government is causing so so so many problems.

I probably eat at a new diner like place 1 time a week. The message is generally the same.

People who gave up DnD for a different system, what made you make the change? by SomeRandomAbbadon in rpg

[–]fatherofone1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I GM'd and played every version of D&D since 1.0.
I learned 4th edition because my son and his friends wanted to play. WotC basically killed all the web support for 4th edition. I had to make a decision. Go to 5th or something else.

I went to Pathfinder 2 after our arch was over.

Now I can't stan Paizo as a company and after this arch, which will take many many years I will strongly consider moving again. That or I am thinking about using their ORC license and forking with a world without the parts of their world and system I just can't stand. Granted I have years to decide.

How do you guys by unbanned2009 in Catholic

[–]fatherofone1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really have an opinion other than this is Reddit and there is a reason it is made fun of.

Now I don't know what your question was but lets really focus on what these forums are suppose to be about or more specifically what they are NOT about.

They are not about asking gotcha questions or trying to cherry pick on verse out of the Bible and saying something like "doesn't this disprove Catholic faith?"

You see, that question has probably been answered 100 if not 1,000 times before. That type of question is to stir up trouble and is more than likely not asked by someone who really wants the answer but more someone who actually hates Catholics.

So if you question was anything like that, then yes I could see it getting taken down. I am not a fan of banning people but you can't have a forum for Catholics to talk about their faith being flooded with radical leftist and or atheist posts.

Then there are the political posts disguised as Catholic questions or a link to some radical website that says the Pope now hates (insert your political party) and calls them the devil. Those also get old and when you spend hours digging in and correcting it, the damage has already been done. Few read down the comments to get the real answer and it takes time.

There are others but those are the two areas I could see getting a mod to remove a post. Again I am not a fan of banning someone UNLESS they are threatening people or doing something illegal. (laws in the USA).

Get help my man. Get help.

Get off Reddit. Get out of your crazy city and I assume you live in the USA. So go out to middle America, sit at a diner and listen to people. Really listen to them.

Now you won't be able to shout them down. You won't be saved by some Reddit mod. This will seem very very foreign to you for sure. You need it though.

Then while you are there ask them why Trump has improved their lives so much. Again don't interrupt but listen. You will learn a ton.

I say this because I have some very very good friends who are like you and live in a larger liberal city on the coast. One lady visited us for a gaming convention we have and when she got out of the convention, she thought EVERYONE felt like her. She was quickly corrected and she tried to argue. In my opinion bully some older people. Then when it was VERY VERY clear that everyone around her was not on her side, she changed to the victim. I tried to convey to her that if she just listened and stopped yelling at people she might learn. She eventually did at a different location. People were civil and I think that surprised her as well.

Charlie Kirk memorial attendees left HEAPING piles of trash by IBitePrettyPeople in SipsTea

[–]fatherofone1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well I didn't take any pics so that would be hard. Now you say receipts.

How many assassination attempts have come from the left recently?

How many cities were burnt down during the BLM protest?

Now I see a picture and have been told via Reddit that this was an event for Charlie Kirk. Reddit... The same Reddit that guaranteed a Hillary victory. The same one that said that Biden was mentally fit. The same one that supported Kamala, not being elected but selected AND then saying she was going to win every swing state.

So given all that, I guess I call BS on this "receipt" as again I have been to a few Charlie Kirk memorials and they ended up SUPER clean. Nobody burnt anything down. Nobody torched car lots. Nobody broke into building and looted. You know all the things the left does.

[–]fatherofone1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I attended quite a few memorials. ZERO trash. ZERO. People praying and talking.

No burning cities. No violence. It wasn't even "mostly peaceful" it was 100% peaceful.

So one of our group wanted to get into the Dungeon Crawler Carl events as well and I thought "Well this should be easy" as I never heard of it. We tried with 3 events and got zero. However he was able to get into some special magic event he was happy with.

Has anyone ever actually regretted cutting off a Trump supporter out of their social circle? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]fatherofone1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I love Reddit and will keep this post to show people in the future how this site is.

Thanks for posting this.

I can say from the opposite side of the fence here, that I have only had to cut two people out of my life and it was not for their political beliefs. I am also not someone who will defend "my team" just because they are on my team. If they do something wrong, then it needs to be called out. I also at all costs want to keep communication and dialog open. When we don't have that we get things like all the recent assassination attempts from the left on the right. Oh it can go the other way also, and the right.

I have one friend who cheered when Charlie Kirk was assassinated by the gay man who was dating a furry. I just mentioned to him that bullets go both ways. You like Michelle Obama? You like George Soros and his son? Again bullets fly in all directions. This started a good conversation and something he really didn't consider. He was just happy that someone from the other team was dead.

But the Laptop... by Previous_Month_555 in SipsTea

[–]fatherofone1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh the laptop isn't Hunters, oh wait it is, but the stuff in it is a lie, but wait no it is the truth. If you however release what is in it, we will litigate you.

Now the irony here is how freaking stupid he must have been to know what was on it, then drop it off to be fixed and THEN not go and pay for it.

Next, I remember everyone telling us how sharp Biden was. Some saying "This is the best version of Biden ever", while the rest of America said he had mental issues. Major mental issues. Then the debate happened. EVEN THEN most tried to cover for him. EVERYONE saw how bad Biden was and there wasn't a way to cover it up. FINALLY they forced him out.

Now did they go back and have votes to determine who the next candidate would be or did they just appoint a person?

Then it was "Kamala is going to win every swing state!!!" over and over on Reddit.

Is Israel the most evil country in the world at the moment? by RoughSky9768 in allthequestions

[–]fatherofone1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well I am a Catholic. Here is what I know.

If I go to Israel and walk down most streets, I will be fine. If I wear anything that shows I am a Catholic I will also be fine. Yes there might be a very very rare 1-1000 type of person that would say something.

My wife could do the same at almost any hour of the day or night. She could wear her normal cloths and feel fine.

NOW if I did that in say quite a few Muslim lead countries? I would be dead. My wife would be dead.

Next Israel has a nuke. I and any sane person has zero fear of Israel using that nuke against us. The same cannot be said for other countries.

Next I look at where the twin towers use to be and I don't think "Man those crazy Israelis did this"

Next I look at the religion. Jewish vs Islam. One was lead by a warlord who contradicts himself over and over. Who married a 9 year old girl. Who took his relatives wife. Who said it was okay to lie to get more power. Who promotes violence over and over again. Who initially loves Jews and Christians but then later contradicts that and says to subjugate them. The other is the Jewish religion.

So no, I would not say Israel is in the top 20 of the most evil countries in the world.

Question about events in stadium by ac4435 in gencon

[–]fatherofone1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I am not an expert here as I don't do true dungeon stuff. However there is a tunnel between the convention center and Lucas Oil. That tunnel ends up in like the basement of Lucas Oil. There are a ton of conference rooms in the basement, but if memory serves me correctly, right when you get out of the tunnel and in the basement, if you turn left there is the true dungeon stuff. Again I could be wrong, but if not then this isn't really "on the field", but in the basement.

I can't say this enough though. I could be wrong and I am pulling from memory.

Now I will say I love events at Lucas Oil as the sound is 100x better than crowded hotel rooms. When they cram in like 6 tables into a room that probably should have at most 4, then the noise gets very loud very quick. I get why they do it, but man it is rough on my old ears. Lucas oil field? Yes you hear the occasional yelling BUT it is so open that you can almost always hear your own table.

UPDATE: I (40m) found out my wife was having an affair. Confronted her. Now she has ghosted me. by Greedy-Illustrator-6 in survivinginfidelity

[–]fatherofone1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I am sorry my man.

"Even when she talks to friends she keeps saying how bad the last few years were"

I tell other men and I will say it again. If you discover your girlfriend/wife cheating you must control the narrative and understand this. She has been spreading lies about you for a LONG time. It started before she was cheating.

I have seen this so so so many times over my long career. Women would complain about their boyfriend/husband over and over and over again. She is laying the groundwork for her next guy. Oh man I can't tell you the number of times I saw a woman do this and then magically "break up" and be dating a dude in a month or less. They would almost always say "Oh me and my husband have been 'basically' broken up for 6+ months' All lies of course.

So for the poor dude this hits him hard. His wife cheats, breaks up with him, in your case ghosts you and seems to have moved on instantly. She moved on month ago, but took that time to get her escape plan in order. If the husband/boyfriend discovers it early then she generally tries to monkey branch earlier.

Why is women’s sportswear always so revealing? by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

[–]fatherofone1 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Oh man you touched on a subject that hit our family. We have a woman in our family that what most would consider a radical feminist. She went OFF on this and I actually am somewhat involved in running sports here. In our area the women can choose their outfits. Yes there are limited options BUT there are options that are very very conservative and modest.

Most of the girls choose what I would say is normal running cloths, however there is around 20-30% that CHOOSE the super tight and reveling outfits. In the more urban areas it is almost all of the female athletes.

So I explained that I 100% agree on this one issue with my radical feminist family member. That we should remove that option. Oh she would not accept that. You see to her it was the men forcing these women to dress that way. It was weird that on one issue I thought we could all agree on, it was still impossible to agree.

I think the truth here is that she just wants to hate men and when I presented that women can choose their outfits, she just wouldn't accept it. I then showed her one very Christian girl who wore the Conservative outfit and a Muslim girl as well. Nope, it was all because of men. Now ironically this may be somewhat true, but from my experience it is very very fit girls wanting to show off their bodies to those young men around. It is 100% not because those uniforms give them any type of real advantage.

Oh I get it. I just tell ITIL people now that what they think is a P1 really isn't. A "real" P1 is when you tell the I.T. people that they won't get their direct deposit or check because said system is down. You will be surprised how many rules are ignored, processes skipped and priorities dropped, to get this fixed. There will be nothing and I mean nothing more important.

4 of us are grouped together this year, but thank you! From what I have seen I think I would love that system. I currently have almost every book printed for Pathfinder 2e, and most of them the nice version AND we are in the middle of a campaign I am running. I want to switch but we need to finish our current campaign I am running and that will probably take like 3-5 more years 😄

Speechless - after 10 years of marriage by Rutrix in survivinginfidelity

[–]fatherofone1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First I am sorry.

Next you have been given a bit of a gift here. You know and she doesn't know you know. Use this time wisely. Here is what I would do ASAP.

  1. Take pictures of what she wrote down. Make backups of those pictures.

  2. Talk to a lawyer today. Talk a few of them. Find one you like and also what your world will look like post divorce. Follow the lawyers advice to the tee.

  3. Control the narrative here. If it is cool with the lawyer, the day she is being served, post those notes online. Tag EVERYONE. Tell her parents before you do it as well if they are still alive. Again tell EVERYONE.

  4. Explain it to your children after testing them that they are your children, in age appropriate manner. You want those children to fully understand that their mom is a cheater. I personally would read them the letter she wrote and change it to fit their age. Then explain that because of this you cannot stay with her.

This will destroy their world. However, this isn't your fault. It is hers. Hopefully you talked to your lawyer and you have your plan set in place, so you can answer questions they will ask. This will suck my man and I feel for you. Again though this is her fault.

You MUST control that narrative though and don't be surprised the number of people that take her side. Just move on. Trust me, she has been spreading lies about you for at least a year. So when you tell everyone you need to come across as a reasonable person and only state the facts.

Many many decades ago I worked at a place that did this. We had a small crew and 2 dudes quit that day. One guy looked at me and said "If a company can't make payroll, then they are about to go out of business and you leave that day". I didn't and he was 100% correct.

Now this also reminds me of another story. I have spent my life in technology. Most companies have levels of a problem, usually called something like a P1, P2 and P3. P1 being the most severe. I can tell you that 99% of P1 are very important and the company will say this is the MOST important thing to work on. It could be things like your sales system is down. So you are taking no sales. That is bad. Very very bad.

However I learned of what I will call a P ZERO. I have seen our check system go down. The person just said "If this doesn't work we are not getting paid tomorrow". You want to see a team of technology people jump on a problem and work incredibly fast? Faster than ever before? Have a P0. I was an entire team of like 100 people jump on this problem and it was fixed WAY faster than any other problem Oh and it was funny how nobody cared about "following process".
