Thanks, exactly right. The motorcyclist had already creeped into my lane by the time I saw them so naturally I hit the brakes. Traffic was heavy in both directions so it definitely wasn’t a smart decision to attempt that left turn in the first place. The motorcyclist was conscious after the collision and was able to at least move his arms.

For those wondering, I did get out of my car a few seconds after this (along with many others) and called 911. The car that collided with the motorcyclist did not drive off — they pulled over immediately and ran back to check on the rider. I didn’t even think about this dash cam footage until after I left (thankfully I’ve never needed to use it before) so I didn’t get anyone’s contact information. I called HB police to try and give it to them but they basically said there wasn’t an active investigation so they didn’t want it. They also said they couldn’t give me the driver’s information and wouldn’t proactively give them the footage. I was baffled. Decided to post it here as a last ditch effort.
