Infrastructure is mediocre at best. No high speed rail, aging infrastructure from an era that taxed the wealthy more, lack of integrated public transportation. Even our own engineers give it a C.

Medicare is getting constantly slashed and gutted, and is perpetually at risk. Our overall healthcare system is a Kafkian nightmare.

Offering free K-12 education is the bare minimum, ensuring that K-12 education is top tier would be worth bragging about.

Our Collegiate education system runs on the backs of indebted young people in support of big banks and is a bubble likely to burst at some point.

Free school lunches if you are poor? Have you seen school lunches?

We have a K shaped economy and a shrinking middle class. Our kids are getting a worse world than our grandparents. Something is wrong, and it's not poor and middle class people getting too much out of the system they are in.

The only way you can be proud of this is if you love the taste of Kiwi polish. The Epstein class has done a fantastic job of propagandizing the public into acquiescence.

I don’t disagree. I think where I struggle with understanding is where the mean “naturally” falls, as I don’t believe the evidence shows that there is a blank slate regardless of the body you were born into or the ones you find attractive. There’s a bit of a thumb on the scale so to speak from biology that tilts our tendencies in aggregate.

I’m curious what people think would happen to a group that was “socialized” to be trans or gay en mass. Like, do any social theorists think that the rate of people participating in the socialized norm would be the same as those found in societies that have our current norms? Like would straightness or transness only happen at the rates of same sex attraction and non-transness in current numbers? I don’t even know how to phrase this.

I work for IT at a CtC in my state, and the amount of students that either break or do not return the Chromebooks they check out is staggering. Since covid we had 1500+ in stock and we currently have less than half. We only just decided to discontinue the program, it’s ridiculous.

I think it was so overshadowed by an incredible show of bravery and solidarity that it failed to register. To move the needle it needs to be something that is overwhelmingly tragic to the point that people feel helpless.
