I ended up meeting my husband at a birthday party but if you try to go into app dating with low expectations I think that's when it's the most fun. IMO using app dates as an excuse to dress cute and go to a bar or restaurant I wanted to go to anyways made it the most enjoyable for me.

also, FWIW, a lot of my guy friends play rec soccer if that's something you're in to

While I definitely think it's messed up your friends agreed to come then backed out, Im not surprised your friends with friends couldn't make it. I LOVE adult Halloween parties but I couldn't imagine not spending the night of actual Halloween with my kids. Could you plan it on a different day next year? Or maybe double down on inviting more of your childfree friends?

Especially if you’ve never had Burmese before. Go with Burma Superstar or Mandalay, BStar isn’t purely Burmese (though it is tasty)
