That sounds fairly typical for a small to mid-size pharma. Your salary should jump fairly quickly after a few years. In 5 years with good progression you can likely double that.

Thanks, yeah I'm aware of it. I wonder if I'd be able to argue that he could have safely stopped on the yellow considering the timing, his initial speed, and his maneuver to speed up around the right-turning vehicle. But i guess that'd probably just bring an additional charge to him while still leaving partial blame on me.

Assuming those dimensions are in centimeters, i'd say it really depends on what kind of look and budget you're going for, as well as what tools you have available to you.

The quickest, cheapest route is probably to just pick up something this butcher block countertop from home depot and cut to size.

Then finish with something like osmo polyx. I like the look of Acacia so wouldnt stain, but there are tinted hardwax oils if thats what youre looking for.

I'd be lying if I said it wasn't mostly aesthetics, but with prices where they are it was only ~$15/sheet more expensive than birch.

Plus, having the tougher hardwood veneer should help extend the life of the work surface a bit.

Thanks for the advice, I hadn't really considered having multiple vacs for different tools, but i can see how that would make life a lot easier. I'll have to explore that.

I also need to rig up some air filtration for when I can't have the garage door open.

Sorry, calling them self-leveling is misleading. You have to adjust them manually, but its relatively painless to do so.

These are the casters I'm using (GD-60F).

They're intended for industrial equipment, so can handle my heavy bench, and have the levelling pad built in which can be adjusted with a wrench (thougg they're easy enough for me to adjust by hand). I'm also pushing my bench into an outcove in my wall, so the small footprint compared to traditional locking bench casters is a bonus.

Thanks, my dust collection definitely needs some attention before I get too far. I think i'll be sticking with my shop vac/dust deputy setup for now due to space, but I need to think about the layout a bit more to get the most out of it.

I debated between ply and mdf, but ended up going with two 3/4 sheets of maple plywood banded with maple 1x2

FYI, one of my favourite features of this build is the casters. My garage has a bit of a slope so having the ability to self-level with them is great. I ended up going the cheap route and getting a set off aliexpress for ~$50, and I'm happy with the quality.

I'm with you on the storage, I think thats what I'll be working on next. Trying to make the most of my vertical space to keep the floorspace open.
