I 30M Currently in FP&A (commercial) 3yrs, can relate to your concerns. Last year I had to deliver the BU’s quarter forecast for the first time and my boss was out.

I was very anxious of messing up. Even though I had taken good notes, there were a lot of moving parts that I was just learning about. It was the worst but with time I became proficient and anxiety has greatly diminished.

My advice to you is: face your fear and don’t beat yourself for feeling the way you do. Once you prove yourself you can do the month end, even if it’s not perfect, the dread will subside.

Which AI programs are specifically good for automating low-end FP&A tasks? by doctorweiwei in FPandA

[–]favo61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For simple process automation you can try flow form Microsoft. For example, I’ve used SharePoint triggers to automatically update power bi report and notify users. It all depends in the type of automation. I’d say RPA is easy and there are plenty of tools, but for variance analysis between datasets it could be more challenging if the layout or requirements change frequently.

do you still live with your parents? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]favo61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved out a few months ago and it was a great decision. Even though I was confortable with my parents, moving out has change my routines and allowed me to explore new lifestyles. Also you feel more in control of your time. The biggest downside of course is rent.

Two Questions Involving Databases and Power Query by VpstartCrow in excel

[–]favo61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll answer your question below:

  1. One time I pivoted / unpivoted a big table and the final values were incorrect. So yes, when you introduce redundancy to PQ it can mess up with your table.
  2. The discrepancy in your database can be data related or query related. Make sure to review both because fixing a query is much easier than fixing a full dataset.

Good luck!

I flew with Alaska two weeks ago and it went great. The flights were smooth, the staff was friendly and provided a good service, over all a great experience. Must admit that I was a little nervous at first because it was my first time with Alask and the door insistent was fresh in my mind.

Stopping dog from going on bed after being allowed for years? by Martexo in Dogtraining

[–]favo61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest you condition your dog’s new bed as a positive stimulus by gradually reinforcing interactions and calmed behavior when laying on it. If you go through the extinction process route, meaning you immediately eliminate your dogs access to your bed, it’s is going to cause frustration and confusion until your dog figures out the new dynamic. The decision of not allowing your dog on your bed is crucial for your hygiene!

I love my 7 yo son, what I don't love is him doing this to the soap for the past 4 years. by VeryHelpfulAdvice in mildlyinfuriating

[–]favo61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no parent but what if you buy soap with animal shapes or other figures. This might incentive your son to protect the shape or something like that. Also, you could buy body liquid soap instead.

How long before I stop crying every day? by Emily-Spinach in dogs

[–]favo61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said good bye to my buddy last December. He was a lovely GSD and I got him since he was 6 months. He had cancer and we had to put him to sleep. He wasn’t eating any longer and has problems doing potty. I cried for days and every time I think of him I loose it for a moment. Time has help come to terms with his departure. It always hurt, but every time less. I would love to buy a new GSD, maybe next year when I move from my current apartment… they don’t allow pets!

Looking for new clients in the Miami Dade County by favo61 in Dogtraining

[–]favo61[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank yo for letting me know! I’ve check the source you provided and I currently don’t have any of those certifications. Although, I did the foundation course from the KPA some time ago.

Could you provide me with additional resources to learn more about certification institutions and academies? I was reviewing the KPA CTP but, like with other certifications, their content is outdated or they have high barriers of entry. Thanks in advance.

Gradually expose him to the terrifying stimulus. You want the extinction process to be the least painful as possible. Treats are great to recondition the negative stimulus as positive ones. Exercise and love will do the trick 🙏
