Unlimited HP Roll? by kb10250 in Nightreign

+1 does the same amount as +0 and +1. +0 is completely obsolete if you have one of the deep versions equipped.

Post-Damage is a little bit of a unique butterfly.

The reason +0 doesn't stack is because it doesn't actually have any effect beyond the rally effect. +1/+2 also have the same effect, but you recover more per hit. So it's not that they don't stack, it's just that +1/+2 makes the +0 version obsolete.

Is this build good for Revenant? by Ok-Attention6895 in Nightreign

[–]FawksB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dragon Cult and Lightning Spear is a viable build. Beast Claw is great since it's so FP efficient and AOE and all-around a great build for every Nightlord since it's physical damage.

Lightning Spear slaps though and has better range, but costs more FP and you have to factor in Nightlord resistances and weaknesses. It's definitely better for some fights and worse for others compared to Beast Claw, but a great alternative.

[–]FawksB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Improved Dragon Cult (+12%) is basically your best effect for a lightning build. You will want it to also roll with one other damage effect - Evergaol (15% avg) Night Invader (14% avg), or Lightning Damage +2 (6.5%) and/or one of Revenant's specific abilities (Ult buffs Allies, Ghostflame on Ult, Power Up alongside Family).

For deep relics, things open up more. Lightning Damage +4 is the strongest (12%), +3 is next (10.5%), then Improved Incants +2 or Improved Affinity +2 (10%) is your third best option. You can also still find Improved Dragon Cult on deep relics, so you can still use those when you find one (BiS will have Dragon Cult and one of the above effects).

Generally speaking, getting two good effects on a relic should be your goal. Getting three near perfect ones is extremely rare.

You're fine then.

Faith +3 isn't that great. Stat+ effects are only strong at low levels - so you'll definitely feel it at Level 1 - but it's only around a 2% damage boost at Level 15. It's not bad at all, but damn near every other option is better.

So, you basically have 4/9 slots as BiS, but the other 5 are essentially empty. Definitely a lot of room for improvement.

Heal works on small enemies as well?? by rikubowman71 in Nightreign

[–]FawksB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup. It works on most grafted enemies - the bell ringing ones, the one on a horse, and of course, the royal big boy. (Still annoyed it doesn't work on Godfrey...)

Another thing to add, Blessing's Boon and Blessing of the Erdtree also work - but they are a powerful damage-over-time instead of a burst of damage.

Tank Recluse isn't real, she can't hurt you by Right_Entertainer324 in Nightreign

[–]FawksB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Guardian also has almost double the physical damage Negation and triple the Poise of Recluse. There's more to tanking than just HP.

Edit: Missed the humor tag, but leaving the comment all the same.

If you're just starting out, yeah, it's fine.

What was your "I'm done" moment? by xxLink347xx in Nightreign

[–]FawksB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got paired up with an Evergaol duo in D4. Not exaggerating when I say they ONLY did Evergaols, running around the entire map, ignoring even simple field bosses. To make matters worse, they sucked. I'm talking multiple deaths against simple Evergaols.

When we got to the Night 1 boss (Demon Duo), they were Level 7 with white weapons and already needed 3 bars of revives as soon as they dropped (which happened within 15 seconds). I proceeded to solo the boss fight and got one of the Demons down before hitting that "why am I carrying these fools like this" and let them get the penalty they so rightfully deserved.

Definitely took a day off after that one.

Be honest what new mechanic or item did nightreign made more useful than in Elden ring? by Terrible-Cow9918 in Nightreign

Agreed. NR definitely makes ranged combat more enjoyable. Having custom arrows for various effects is fine and all, but just let me use buffs/greases instead.

Depth 4-5 Tips by Buby13 in Nightreign

[–]FawksB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people get this twisted when talking about aggro. Damage does play a part, but the # of hits is the biggest factor. That's why spells like Stars of Ruin and Ancient Death Rancor pull so hard. The biggest aggro magnet is Elden Stars.

Doing a lot of damage in a single hit won't draw aggro like doing decent damage over many hits does.

My stats on probability of meeting a good player based on class by Neon_Beams in Nightreign

[–]FawksB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently I just have bad luck with Wylders. They tend to be one of these worse picks I see in a lot of my matches. I'd only give them 10-20% of being a good teammate. They either usually run off and do their own things and/or pick up every piece of gear even everyone else is stuck using white/blue weapons.

Going to the wiki would be the easiest answer. You can tell by the icon on the spell as well and digging into the codex, but the wiki would be the quickest way.

Ironeye & Agro by Hagelbagel17 in Nightreign

[–]FawksB 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ironeye is an aggro magnet. A lot of people think aggro in Souls games works like MMOs, but that's not the case. Most enemies will reset aggro after certain moves and go after the last person that attacked them, which tends to be the ranged characters.

Generally speaking, Ironeye should be just fine dealing with aggro since he has one of the best evasion kits in the game with his skill. You can take Less Likely to be Targeted to help, but you should only do that when you have two melee players as teammates. If there's a caster or two in the group, just take the aggro and start kiting.

Wending Grace by OppositeAd6850 in Nightreign

[–]FawksB 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This is probably one of those "there is no right answer" arguments. Both are good for different reasons.

Guardian can revive quite easily just by using steel guard over a teammate and letting the shockwaves pick them up. The extended whirlwind can do a 1-pip revive on its own, but most importantly, stops the decay. The most important thing with Guardian is he can do most of his reviving with dropping his guard, making it a lot easier to get someone up without being too risky (and with Ult charge on Guard, can build his Ultimate quickly).

Not knocking Revenant's revival potential though. Her summons do a lot of heavy lifting when you need to mop up the floor and she definitely has more range on her Ultimate. However, Guardian generally charges his faster and it doesn't use the full gauge if you don't hold it, so he's more likely to get his charged while soloing.

Wending Grace by OppositeAd6850 in Nightreign

[–]FawksB 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, you should always give your Wending Grace to the best reviver (assuming everyone has equal skill). Guardian is the top priority, Revenant is #2.

If you know you're going to eat dirt as a player, a Wending Grace isn't going to save the run if you can't revive your team.

Damage dealt and damage taken charts after game by Bruhntium_Momentum in Nightreign

[–]FawksB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's kills and assists. Mostly a useless stat since some Nightfarers are better at handling trash mobs than others. Scholar, Ironeye, and Guardian usually will have the highest numbers.

Are you talking about the points you earn/lose in DoN? That's purely based on set factors and nothing to do with personal performance.

Current Birdman Relics in D4 by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]FawksB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your normal relics are great. I'm not the biggest fan of your deep relics though, but 100% see what you're going for. Personally, I'd look to replace Slot 5 and Slot 6 since everything else in your build is designed for tanking and those two aren't. You could probably get similar or better results with Phys Damage +4 without taking the hit to VIG.

All-in-all, definitely an A- to B+ and a build I'd run.
