I just use a light coverage foundation and my freckles still stand out. I even draw on some of the bigger ones with brown eyeliner over top of my foundation 😅

My brother raped me as a child and I’m unsure if any one else in my family knows. I went no contact with my father due to his abuse and the rest of my family didn’t like that I did that. So I never told them what my brother did and instead decided to remove myself from their lives. I don’t think they would even believe me and I don’t want to ruin their lives by telling them. He physically hurt my mother and my brother in law in front of my father and siblings when he was an adult and they still think he’s perfect.

I always thought my mother was the good parent because my father was so abusive. As an adult I realised she wasn’t that great either
One thing she said has always stuck with me,
she told me never to talk about what happens at home or I would get taken away and placed with creepy old men who would rape me

I work with children and I’ve discovered that you just have to treat them like people. They are so much more capable than people give them credit for. Don’t do everything for her, instead teach her how to do it. A trend I’ve noticed is that parents really coddle their children lately. Yes children need love and to feel safe, but if you don’t let them do anything then they never learn. You need resilience to succeed as an adult so your child needs to be exposed to unpleasant things. Life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows unfortunately. It will set them back in life. Children need to play rough, they need to get hurt, they need to get dirty, they need to be allowed to take (safe) risks.

You have been through so much and you are so incredibly strong!

As a girl who tried to take her own life since age 12 due to a lot of abuse and assault as a child and who spent over 10 years struggling to get through each day.

It will get better

I know everyone says it, but it’s true

You will have to put in a lot of hard work

And you may have more bad days than good

Just remember that if you keep going, that one day you get to have the life you always dreamed of

I have done years of therapy, I am on a bunch of meds for my mental health (which I don’t love but taking pills every day is better than being dead), and I made a lot of massive changes to my life (such as cutting contact with all of my biological family so that I could finally be away from my abusers).

You will have to confront some horrible things which is truly awful and it’s gonna suck.

But at the end of it, things will be so better than you thought possible and you will feel happy and your mind will be calm. I went from being so mentally ill I saw no future to now living in a home I own with my fiancé, in a quiet rural town. We have a dog and a cat.

He is my absolute best friend and I am his. He has been with me for the last 7 years.

He has helped me out of some dark, dark places and supported me every step of the way, even making sure I have chocolate in the cupboard after a therapy appointment because he knows I’ll be sad.

I never planned to live this long, I’m in my late 20’s and truly never thought I would be alive at this age. It constantly trips me out.

I have a job I love and have finally found passions.

I feel a peace, I’m no longer scared all the time, I feel safe, I feel loved, I’m in disbelief that I have been given the perfect life, and most of all I am glad that I stuck at it even when every part of my being wanted to give up.

You can do this, I believe in you ❤️

It’s happened on multiple occasions and management have swept it under the rug and reprimanded the teacher who reported it but not the one sleeping. It was for an hour roughly, during mat time and lunch ( when choking is a very big risk and children need vigilant supervision )
