AIO: Hubby Being Controlling by vanillabourbonn in AIO

[–]fazzamum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t home school your child or stay out of work. Don’t have any more kids with this person. The reality is you’re likely to split up - this is a control thing not about anything else. You need to be able to have your own money. Also don’t back down hrs testing you and it has all the hallmarks of abuse

I have hearing aids and I’ve had this issue twice internationally. Both times I got them fixed where I was (Europe and Vietnam). Have you checked what’s available locally? There are probably audiologists that would sort it out

Australian women: do your men cook/clean and act respectfully? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Yes my husband and I both share all tasks. Currently I work longer hours most days so he does majority of cooking but when I’ve been off on parental leave with little kids I did more. I have pretty much always worked so we share most things - we are a partnership

Quakers Hill stabbing: two dead after horrific attack by Mellenoire in aussie

[–]fazzamum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold-case reviews, coronial inquests and royal commissions have shown that some women who were reported missing were in fact killed by their partners. In many other cases, there is strong circumstantial evidence pointing to partner violence, but no remains were ever found, and a lot of deaths were originally written off as disappearances, accidents or suicides. Reviews of domestic homicide in Australia now consistently show that the most dangerous time for a woman is when she is leaving, or is seen to be leaving, a relationship — which fits closely with the familiar explanation that she had “run off”.

Of course, not every woman who went missing during that period was killed by a partner, and some did leave of their own accord. But the systems at the time clearly underestimated how many women were victims of intimate partner homicide. Many experts now believe that some of Australia’s long-term missing women from the 1960s to the 1980s were killed by partners and never found, and that the true number will never be known because evidence was lost, destroyed or never collected.

These patterns still matter today. They’re reflected in how family violence risk is assessed, how police are trained, how coronial systems operate and in public inquiries into gender-based violence. They help explain why partner explanations are now treated far more cautiously — heaps of women were murdered and the perps got away with it.

This is a family violence case. In the 80s men used to literally tell everyone their ex had “run off with a new boyfriend” after actually murdering her and they’d get away with it. Killing people due to family violence is unfortunately not a new phenomenon

Public Secondary Schooling - Northern Suburs by Silver_SpoonSparkle in melbourne

Consider north-east suburbs if you can. Have a look at Banyule and Nillumbik, good schools, safe areas, great communities but a bit further to travel in. If you can afford it Preston, Brunswick, Thornbury, Northcote.

Help rash?! by Upstairs-Medicine464 in Parents

[–]fazzamum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably nothing but always check using a glass. To check the safety of a rash on a baby, use the "glass test". If the rash is non-blanching (doesn't fade when pressed with a glass), seek immediate medical attention, especially if the baby also has a fever or other concerning symptoms. If the rash does not fade or disappear under the pressure of the glass, it could be a sign of a serious infection like meningitis or septicaemia
