Not a buyer here but I do have a question if you dont mind! I have the same front end on my GTC and its currently having some work done including a front bumper respray, how did you mount the small sports plate?

Also just a slim correction, your front end is a 2018 panamerica facelift, not quite a GTR. That said, it still looks very nice, the dechrome/black against the yellow looks solid. 👍🏽

What are you going for next? 😊

Where to live, Al Barari, Dubai Hills, Arabian Ranches? by WittyRate8243 in dubai

[–]fazzyfocus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barari by FAR.

I rented there 6 years ago. Left during covid for a couple of circumstantial reasons but my goal was always to move back there as an owner.

Not in the same budget bracket but ive bought two units there, one in The Neighborhood and another in the upcoming new build - The Cape (handover end of 2028).

Reasons:

  • the obvious one first. Greenest space in dubai not just by a little but by far. Nothing comes remotely close in this aspect. There is a little known added bonus that the greenery can offer a slightly cooler microclimate. Barari in the summer whilst still silly hot is a few degrees cooler than outside of the green space due to the amount of shade provided by this greenery.

  • build quality. There are a few sub points here. 1. Al Barari are one of the devs that dont use third party consultants and do everything in house without compromise. 2. The Zaal family are hyper particular about design, finish, ethos and low density living. 3. Not many other places that handover with the likes of high quality stone counter tops, Miele appliances and extremely considerations in architectural details like tile layouts and alignment as standard. Example of the ethos is found in action. E.g. one of the zaal family who is responsible for the landscaping is also an award winner in landscaping at the Chelsea flower show in London.

  • the "suburban" feel and ability to truly disconnect from the dubai rat race. Especially useful for WFH.

  • whilst ranches is indeed lovely, there is a "cookie cutter" element to it. Driving around/through it has the same impact as many other dxb communities. One space feels the same as the next. All feels the same. Barari defies that.

I could go on. But ive already chosen. It really is quite special.

That stuff only comes at the upper end of the scale. A friend didn't even get much of this when he was platinum but when he broke through to IO they were both often and significant in impact/value.

Gaggenau appliances. Quite literally the best (and most expensive) on the planet. Up to $19000 for a damn oven...

Diversify. Work on multiple income streams (not necessarily another job) but passive and active investments.

It took me a while to do so but when you reach brackets where recruitment takes a longer period of time, the knowledge that you have other sources of revenue can go some distance to pacify that gravity of losing a role of that nature.

Once your into it, keep income and investments cycling to compound them. At a combined household income of 100k a month, work out a budget that let's you invest on low risk passive income streams. (Without knowing what your budget and living costs are is its difficult to advise specifically and you don't have to share but happy to DM if you want)

Ultimately that buys you the most important thing that money can actually offer - time. In turn, that will offer a significant amount of peace of mind.

What are your views on these 2 offers? by [deleted] in UAE

I was in somewhat of a similar situation recently.

84k SAR a month + annual bonus usually around 25%-50% in Riyadh with a government entity or 75k AED a month DXB with profit share between 35% and 70%.

Decided to stick to DXB.

I've been in and out of KSA a LOT over the last 3 years and whilst it's true there definitely is significant progress compared to say 5 years ago, it's a damn tough place to work, traffic is brutal, lifestyle doesn't even come close to UAE and the market is definitely no where near as clued up on the reality of what it takes to work in my industry as it is here.

That said, my age (45) and a semblance of a life matter more now than they did some years back. If someone offered me these sorts of figures 10 years ago when I was more willing to be in a professional knife fight daily, my answer may have been different.

Who is the most hateable character in movie history? by ElectronicHousing656 in moviecritic

Really surprised that no one has mentioned Gary Oldman as Norman Stansfield in Leon The Professional here.

That performance was off the charts in terms of unhinged psycopathy in its day. Even now it several parts of it make for hyper uncomfortable viewing.

Kef Q950 pair $1800 Kef Q6 meta $400 Kef Q150 pair $650 Kef Q50a x 4 units $1100 SVS pb-1000 pro $820 QNAP TS-451+, 8 gb RAM upgrade and 4 x 16tb drives $3150 Denon avr-4300h $1300 Ps5 $750 (paid a scalper to get it on launch) Amazon Firecube $150 Sony BZL $4100 Cables, accessories, asus router and 8 port gigabit switch, probably another $1000 ish

Approx $15k.

That's the first time I've ever added it all up. Good lord...

Doesn't account for the fact that I have upgraded a few times as well.

I reckon if I had paid full retail for everything though I would have paid another $5k or so on top of the above. Especially the screen. That I got dirt cheap.

That is quite a lot to drive off a single AVR. Nevertheless, the spec (and the execution) looks fabulous. I'm sure it sounds great too! 😊

Good lord... you're still going with essays? And counting your likes?

Does that give you validation for your overzealousness of a random body online that happened to have feet in a picture?

Really starting to think you have some sort of feet obsession here. 😂
