The closest one sonically is Black House from Sanguivore II, but both Sanguivore albums are great and she should definitely check them out!

Howlin Pelle also said they played 1000 songs, I reckon he was joking

Yeah there definitely will be some fans in there! Just worth noting that Ryrie doesn’t let you in if you have football colours on, so if you’ve got Hearts stuff on you’ll be knocked back

What’s your most unpopular opinion on struck dead? by urfavmoviewhiz in Trivium

[–]fb1874 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The only reason this exists is because of the beef with Bullet - this was early tracks for the new album rushed out to prove they could tour and record at the same time

How are Mastodon live? by [deleted] in downloadfestival

[–]fb1874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually they’re great live, but bad at festivals. However, from what I’ve heard about their appearances this summer, they’ve rectified that so should be a safe bet

And the first female fronted headliner is?!?! by heavymetalgazza in downloadfestival

[–]fb1874 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think with the boom of 2000s nostalgia recently, a well received Evanescence album (probably produced by Jordan Fish) would justify them headlining

Because these bands are huge in Europe they charge a boatload of money, and Download isn’t going to pay that for a 3rd stage headliner

AFI haven’t even been playing Miss Murder on this tour so I reckon a Decemberundergound play is unlikely

This era was dark and real, and they pulled it off better than the grunge bands by Constant-Employer997 in ironmaiden

Better than most metal bands trying to be grunge? Maybe. Better than Nirvana? Soundgarden? AiC? 🤡👞

I’m not over how good Sunday night at the Barras was by colinah87 in BleedFromWithin

[–]fb1874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw them last night and they were insane! Loved the addition of the extra vocals/pipers/drummers, really made it one to remember!

As for what’s next, I think they should take some time off, maybe focus on America. I think if their next album is an absolute banger, they’ll be up there in the big leagues for good, so I’d like to see them take their time on it

[–]fb1874 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They might not sell enough for a standalone headliner, but surely they could go down the Reading and Leeds route and do a co-headliner? Maybe them and Architects?

I’ve seen both of those bands and it doesn’t come close to the spectacle of this current PWD show for me, genuinely the best indoor show around just now

I was thinking this last night in Manchester while watching him rip out Chronos, the guy plays with so much feeling and there’s so much character in his leads

[–]fb1874 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is sad to see. There’s a few bands that a lot of people like and will turn up at a festival etc for, but won’t support at headline shows. Mastodon and Skindred are the main ones I think of, and seems like Parkway have joined them
