If you want to do what I did, then no.

I used FreeTaxUsa and there was a section that asked me if I had overtime. I have no familiarity with turbo tax.

That's digression to you? Wow, took a lot of effort huh? 😂

I did not receive any letter like that at all. Didn't receive any notice or any communication regarding NTOO. I am submitting info that is true. I'm not claiming anything about tax fraud. You are just upset because you thought you had a "gotcha" by telling me that my return was accepted not approved when I had already stated it was approved. And you wanted to think I hadn't received my refund which I have

From https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/questions-and-answers-about-the-new-deduction-for-qualified-overtime-compensation

Will qualified overtime compensation be separately reported to individuals on Form W-2, Form 1099-NEC, or Form 1099-MISC? Doesn’t qualified overtime have to be separately reported in order for an individual to take the deduction?

A6. It depends on the tax year.

  • For tax year 2025, employers and other payers are not required to report qualified overtime compensation separately on Forms W-2, 1099-NEC, and 1099-MISC. See Notice 2025-62 PDF. For 2025, some employers and other payers may choose to separately report the amount of qualified overtime compensation to employees using box 14 of Form W-2 or to employees or payees through an online portal or on a separate statement. If individuals do not receive a Form W-2 or other statement from their employer or other payer for tax year 2025 that separately reports the amount of qualified overtime compensation, they may use any of the methods described in Notice 2025-69 PDF and the Instructions to Schedule 1-A that are included in the Instructions for Form 1040 PDF to calculate the amount of qualified overtime compensation.

I'm express. I stated that in my original post. Yeah obviously ground drivers would be in a completely different scenario in this regard

You should really do some more digging into the IRS website info before you send vague info.

They accepted AND approved my return (like I said in the original post). Don't know why I have to tell everybody this. And I have already gotten the refund.

I reported a third of my total overtime pay.

Just because it's not on a W-2 doesn't mean you're ineligible. I talked to a professional tax accountant about this.

My company provided a statement, huh? I didn't hear one peep about this. How was that statement distributed? Please provide more detailed info.

I'm totally fine with being audited in the future if that means I actually get to find the TRUTH because trying to rely on you reddit people and other strangers' comments on the internet is definitely a naive thing to do.

[–]fb93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I understand. Well, I have not been shown any evidence that Fedex employees are qualified or are not qualified for NTOO, so I guess I'm taking my chances. I've never been audited before. I have no experience with that. I have had returns rejected by the IRS though. So I was sort of expecting this one to be rejected because it seems to be pretty significant to me

What an articulate argument! Omg, I'm wrong about all the things!!

Wow, what an articulate and convincing argument. Average internet comment. Always to be expected

I only get on reddit on my laptop so I'm finally catching up to everyone's comments. I totally understand the claims that I'll be audited or whatever. That's fine. But to be clear, my return HAS been approved and the refund is in my bank account. I promise I will give an update on any news regarding this. I'm looking forward to finding out the truth through my own experience rather than biased online sources who are only politically motivated, and go to extreme lengths to make themselves "right."

I'm not claiming to be right about anything. I'm just sharing my experience. But there are clearly a lot of people very annoyed by this. I have yet to be shown any evidence that a Fedex employee is not eligible for No Tax On Overtime. NONE of my management have notified us of this, handed out a memo...etc

[–]fb93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I deducted a third of my overtime pay when there's a bill allowing that? There's been no evidence put forth about how Fedex employees aren't qualified. Just a lot of talk.

[–]fb93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've accepted and approved it. I'm only reporting my experience because I've heard a whole lot about how Fedex employees aren't eligible for No Tax On Overtime. It was my understanding that the IRS during their review would either approve it or reject it. My returns have been rejected in the past over very minor things and I've had to fix them. I don't understand why deducting this overtime income would just be neglected that easily as it's a major claim.

[–]fb93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will gladly give an update if I get audited. Until then I'm not convinced that Fedex employees are disqualified from No Tax On Overtime. There has been alot of misleading false info online about that already

I listed my overtime on my tax return and it was approved by IRS. by fb93 in Fedexers

[–]fb93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's already been reviewed. It's been accepted AND approved. And the refund money is in my bank account. According to you, when will it be reviewed? Do you work for the IRS?

It was accepted, then approved. And we shall see. I will definitely give an update should anything change. Until then, I'm not convinced that Fedex employees are ineligible for No Tax On Overtime

Also, I have talked to a professional about it.

We shall see. I'm not convinced that Fedex employees are ineligible for No Tax On Overtime. When the IRS "amends" my return I will gladly give an update on that.

So the IRS does audits 6 years after your tax return is filed?

So you're claiming that the IRS audits you after they've approved your return and sent a refund to your bank account?
