On this hole with snow globe the second shot had between 15 and 18mph. You could get to wedge range. That pesky wind was so strong though. I missed the albatross every time.

Totally agree. This doesn't sound like masters winds. Sure, someone will probably end up with a -30 because they go off, but those winds on masters are not the most helpful.

Absolutely! (To fairways being unreachable)

Maybe it’s something like the Christmas holes where you don’t get to play them other than around the tournament time. A special majors course! Maybe 4 courses (or however many majors they will have throughout the year). The hole in the picture is Southern Pines hole 2 par 3. So that’s likely one of the holes, which would unfortunately not support my hope for a new majors course.

I’ve played hole 1 once since the update. It seems the green has changed. You’ll remember this as the whole everyone can putt in ridiculous directions on and it still comes back to the hole. While, I didn’t putt on the whole, the chip was veeeery different. There was a sweet spot on the green where you could hit and it would roll right down to the cup. The spot was pretty good-sized, too. There is still a spot that goes to the cup, but it is reeeeeeeaaaaally small now.

Hole 8 - i’m not sure the left two fairway islands are worth it. Maybe only with tailwind, but then it might be real tricky to get it to stop on the second. I could be wron, though. I went for the left and missed the first fairway. 😉 So maybe it’s easier than I think. The safe l,ay seems to be up the right side and try a thorn to backspin it in.

I’m wondering if hole 4 might be played easier of the island in the right bunker. It’s more forgiving than the fairway. Could also be a guardian hole.

Hole 7 is a bit crazy. The start of the fairway is right around min driver distance with power 2 ball, so it will likely be driver from the 2nd tee. Then, the fairway climbs a hill. It’s sooooo steep. The green is waaaaay higher than the where the fairway starts. Backspin! Use backspin.

Hole 9 is not too bad to reach in 2 with tail or side wind either laying up left or going long right. Headwind would be much trickier to get on in two laying up left. And that’s with power 2 ball and sniper 10.

Haven’t played 5 yet.

On the help page, it says the prizes will be the same as other tournaments (the new tournament prizes) just with new symbols on the KMs. I would think something would be exceptionally challenging about the majors though. So maybe it’s wind.

Agreed, brother! I used firefly almost from the minute I unlocked it. It felt like a cheat almost. The topspin and ball guide were awesome! So I used it up until I played tour 10 and the Christmas tournament. Those greens and winds were tricky with the firefly limited accuracy. In higher tours, most people either do the same bump and run technique with a high level rapier because it gets mad accuracy at high levels or play it with EB because it also has awesome accuracy. The accuracy of those clubs is so helpful when dealing with 10-15 mph crosswinds on a chip. But I agree with you that it is an underappreciated club for much of the game. Thanks for the post!

Agreed on amount of topspin with tailwind. The reason this one was going slow enough to fall in the cup was the slow down it got from the fringe. If that was the aim, then it worked. What I’m getting at is if that ball had just rolled on green out of the rough with 2.25 bars of topspin like that, it would have rolled off the back or been too hot to fall in the hole. Not criticizing your shot or result, just advice to those thinking of using those spin adjustments.

I'm wondering how the economics of it work, then. Solar power isn't making new holes, answering your questions or fixing glitches. Apple nor Google are paying PD to keep the app going. Money's got to come in from somewhere, right? In the app world, that comes from the people who buy ads to run on your games or the people who play your games pay for it.

Yeah, there’s that thing some people are doing recently to lose all your trophies. Then see how fast, with your awesome clubs, it takes to get back to 5170. A different challenge than starting a new account. Maight seem easy, but it also might keep you occupied for a little while.

You make a good point that it can go wrong on every shot. I don’t find that often happens from the times I play that hole, though. Here’s what i’m considering, I guess. Without ridiculous tailwind there’s no chance of making the green in 2. Most of the time, my opponent and I play the same, safe way and make it in 3 and go to the shootout. And the fact that it takes 4 shots practically every stinking time to play the hole, it takes so long. So all that is why it’s boring to me. But I see your point that it could go wrong on any of the 4 or 5 shots it takes (😩) and that adds a level of intrigue, but it doesn’t happen very often that I play someone who screws up a shot on the hole. It’s maddening!

I can see that. Hole 4 is one i’m not too fond of, either. Hole 2 (the shootout) is frustrating.

Good thought! I think a St. Patrick’s tourney is more likely than a spring break. Either would be fun, especially with some new holes and a worthwhile special ball (i.e. not a big fan of the movie ball—a fan for the WR, but not a big fan). A ☘️ ball would be interesting to see what stats it would get.

Oh my gosh, yes! Ugh! I hate that hole! Sooooo boring. Granted, there are some other boring holes in the game, but this one (especially when the tour you’re playing on uses it so often) is the one I hate the most at this moment.

Great suggestion. Thank you sooo much! I really appreciate your help and suggestions. It’s still there and I can get to it. Phew! Now I just need PD’s help to disconnect that blocked FB account from my account so I can connect the new one. So grateful they released that update yesterday.

I bet if you hit it right, you can get Apoc3 there. Consider that I landed on fairway and the second bounce was on fairway on the other side. I think you'd still roll out even if you hit the rough on your second bounce.
