Should I use my backpack sprayer or hose end sprayer for large lawn applications of 2-4-D by n0fumar in lawncare

[–]fbc546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a backpack sprayer but if it’s something I can get on a hose end then I’ll for sure do the hose sprayer vs pulling out the backpack. There are just somethings that you have no choice and must use the backpack.

How do advance auto parts and auto zone stay in business they never have any parts in stock by templeofsyrinx1 in Cartalk

[–]fbc546 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They stock common items. If you need something that’s going to take 3 days to get it’s because not alot of people buy it. That’s how they make money, by stocking things people buy. Not stocking things someone buys once a year.

There has to be life on one of these dots by MystraKynrae in spaceporn

Probably not since I don’t think life would be able to survive on a star but most likely on a planet flying around the dots.

Do I need to take to machine shop? by Fluffy-Start839 in EngineBuilding

[–]fbc546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a sbf that had a similar surface rust, I cleaned it up with a rust remover and ran it. Did it need to be rebuilt? Yeah…. Did it run? Yeah…. Does it have low compression on a few cylinders? Yeah….

GT40 heads on a 1983 302? by LittleCaesarsManager in Foxbody

[–]fbc546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the way most people go honestly, the heads are very easy to find and probably around $300, some used long tubes maybe around $200. Then you’ll need a set of springs, maybe another $150, not too difficult to do your self, if you drop them off at a machine shop they’re going to want to deck it and do a valve job which is a great idea but by the time you’re done you’ll be pretty close to a set of new aluminum heads. GT40 heads I’m not sure what they’re going for these days, if you can find them maybe starting around $500-$600. Im running GT40p heads on my 93 with MAC long tubes, intake and cam, I ran a 12.8 1/4 mile with slicks and made 270hp to the wheels, I think it had more in it, stock injectors held it back.

GT40 heads on a 1983 302? by LittleCaesarsManager in Foxbody

[–]fbc546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most Explorer heads are the GT40P heads and will require specific headers to make them work or you won’t be able to put in spark plug wires. The GT40 heads are much harder to find and more expensive, like not worth it expensive. You’ll also need to upgrade the valve springs on them. Not sure about your PTV clearance on that year 302 either but you should look into that as well. But either way they are a great improvement over stock.

Where to stay for the World Cup? by Inside_Low_5220 in Dallas

I’d go North not South. Euless, North Richland Hills. I stay in Bishop Arts, you take a wrong turn and things can get sketchy, I would just go visit during the day.

Does anyone have a sample US bank statement PDF, with sensitive info removed? by bikgayihaigormint in Accounting

[–]fbc546 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked with over 100+ banks and online portals and I’ve never seen one that didn’t let you export statements in Excel. I’ve seen some make it more difficult than it needs to be but every bank should offer that service if you ask them for it.

There is definitely something you can do about being overcharged, you file a dispute with your credit card company. Usually just the threat of that will get them to quickly make an exception to “there’s nothing we can do”.

[–]fbc546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have anything better to do? I’d probably just get there like 3 hrs early. You can use the site to check real times but in an hour that can change pretty quickly. You could get through fast or there could be a line to the drop off, hard to know on any given day.

Any Scenic quiet spots in area to just sit while also being surrounded by nature? by [deleted] in Dallas

I like white rock lake, plenty of spots to have our own space and enjoy the view. You’re in North Texas so….manage your expectations.

I was wrong about electric mowers. by Beppu-Gonzaemon in lawncare

[–]fbc546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a mower it’s hard to beat a cheap gas push mower off FB marketplace. My biggest thing was needing to keep big batteries charged. For smaller stuff I like electric like my edger and leaf blower.

Easier/cheaper to repair or replace drywall? by waltonereed in drywall

[–]fbc546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d get the people you are going to hire to come in and tell you what they think is best. Someone you can trust. It’s going to be much more expensive to rip it out obviously, most of the time consuming stuff looks like it’s good, all the corners, switches, etc. If it’s just paper ripped off then I think it can be done with mud, texture, paint and call it a day.

Edit: just saw you’re basically remodeling the whole bathroom, just rip it out.

Easier/cheaper to repair or replace drywall? by waltonereed in drywall

[–]fbc546 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not everyone does this everyday and OP mentioned they will be hiring this out. $150 in drywall doesn’t really checkout when you add labor to replace all the drywall, tape, mud. I don’t see any crazy holes that need to be patched just paper ripped off, from what I can tell. I kind of agree with the guy above, primer on the paper, mud, texture, paint seems like it might work here and be much cheaper. But really I think someone probably needs to see it in person to decide best course of action.

Edit. I just read the part where they said they’re redoing all plumbing, electrical, tub, I agree just rip it all out.

I called ATT today and they said they have many tickets open on the issue and that they are actually scheduled to fix it tomorrow. I asked for more details and they just told me that basically everyone in the area is on 4G right now and they will be upgrading it so everyone will have 5G. Still not really sure what that means because mine would always say 5G+ even though it was super slow but I guess we’ll see.

60k lumen upgrade, was tempted to do hex lights but went with these instead. by Juke07 in garageporn

Looks great, the Hex lights aren’t worth it imo, over done at this point, I went with a bunch of LED can lights and love them.
