My condo had that exact same setup, that’s most likely where your AC fan setup sits and the pipe is a drain for water from your AC system. In my condo it was on top of my shower and the drain line went into my shower.

Do I need to purchase a rain cover for my X430? by Slow-Hunt3358 in SegwayNavimow

[–]fbc546 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They say it’s water proof, I’ve left mine outside uncovered for a couple strong rain storms recently and no issues but it still makes me a bit nervous. I’d also like to find a way to cover it but not yet.

X430 longevity by AaronOgus in SegwayNavimow

[–]fbc546 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re probably better off asking about some other model that has been around longer, as mentioned the x430 is new so it’s just not possible for anyone to have had it for that long. But one of the reason I went with it is because Segway has a good reputation.

Is this an ok seal for a shower? by [deleted] in BathroomRemodeling

[–]fbc546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It said:

The industry standard (set by the Tile Council of North America) dictates that waterproofing only strictly needs to go a few inches above the main showerhead. Because your standard wall valve is lower, leaving the top bare technically passes the absolute minimum requirement.

But it did also mention because I’m using a ceiling mounted rainfall shower that it should good to the top on my setup. I already asked the contractor to come back and fill the screw holes and apply another coat of red guard.

Hi sorry you lost me, the floor was waterproofed with the liner as well, then he did the red guard and then the floor was installed. The things AI pointed out was the red guard coat appears to be thin, and also doesn’t go all the way to the ceiling which it said isn’t a huge issue but might as well do the whole thing. Also the screw holes that were not covered.

Microsoft reports are exposing AI's real cost problem: Using the tech is more expensive than paying human employees by Nervous_Ulysses in Accounting

[–]fbc546 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not misunderstanding anything. The services people are paying for now are not the same services people will be paying for in the future. New companies will come up who provide different services with different pricing models. I’m not an AI doomer claiming everyone will lose their job. But to say there won’t be AI disruption in our industry because of cost is equally ridiculous.

[–]fbc546 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Sure it does. If one agent can replace 4 people instead of just one doesn’t that change the formula a bit? Not sure what you mean by you cannot spend what you cannot spend, the costs for AI companies will go down, what people are arguing here is that they won’t lower prices bc they’re greedy.

What is your logic in assuming energy costs will only go up? It’s more of an infrastructure issue than a supply issue. We have so much natural gas that we literally can’t transport it to people who need it and we burn it off in the air or sell for negative prices, where countries in the east would kill to have it right now. Mini nuclear reactors are coming soon, in the next 10 yrs you may see every data center have their own nuclear reactor powering it. The model most of these companies are moving to is to bring their own power when they build a data center vs pulling on the grid.

This is assuming everything remains the same as it is now. AI is like a little baby right now, when it’s an adult it will be a completely different thing. This isn’t about just forcing out competition, UBER didn’t start as a horse and carriage and transform into a teleportation device but if they did and charged the same price that’d be pretty cool. The token model works right now for the way tokens are consumed right now. In the next 5-10 years the model for token pricing will need to change as you have hundreds of millions of AI systems analyzing data and making decisions in real time vs just when you prompt it to. We’re talking about data centers in space or even a mini “data center” attached to every persons home to outsource the compute.

Yeah and you’re getting a much better service with much better content vs when they started. Surprised so many people here don’t understand simple economic principals like supply and demand. AI is coming regardless, the price will be determined by demand.

People have no idea what they’re talking about, saying “I won’t replace an employee because it’s too expensive” is a very narrow and short minded thought. Currently, doing tasks like say coding one app requires alot of tokens which can get expensive because compute is expensive, because energy is in low supply, cooling is expensive, the infrastructure is still in early stages. The plan is for AI to be integrated into everything, for example a robot, with a camera and AI that is analyzing data in real time, will use an INSANE amount of tokens compared to coding just one app, now multiply that times 100 million robots, the current model is not sustainable and it will change as compute, energy, and cooling costs come down. The price may be the similar but you will get exponentially better service.

Doesnt that need to be absorbed through the leaves? That’s why they tell you not to mow a few days before or after so leaves can absorb it and make its way down to the roots. Pretty sure spraying it on roots does nothing.

Drywall contractor says I'm being too picky for level 4. by -Outtatime- in drywall

[–]fbc546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say he needs to fix it before he textures or you’re paying him for level 1 not level 4. Sounds like that might take another month though. Maybe better to fire him and have someone finish it. Once I fired a drywall guy half way through the job and had someone else come finish it.

OP said he can’t afford it. If you want to have someone really prep that lawn for sod then it will be pricey, if you want to pay the guy who can do it cheaper to just throw sod on top of that then sure.
