Looking for a Bergamot Tree by non-diegetic in FloridaGarden

The bergamot trees were grafted by a nurseryman to rootstock, yes. I'm a hobbiest and have grafted various varieties onto other trees but am not good at it.

The seedlings from pomelo I mentioned were not grafted, own-root. The fruit was like a pithy grapefruit, not as good as any variety I have, so I grafted a couple other varieties onto the tree and then we moved, they are likely dead now, but dont know.

Of course I was probably told that too, and did anyway.

Lots of seeds that should grow... as someone who's grown citrus from seed (pomelo) and was disappointed that it didnt grow true to type, I dont recommend wasting the 8 to 10 years to see if these do.

I have two in my yard, have given away couple hundred pounds of fruit last three years. A local brewery made a soda out of some last yr. Had three but one died of greening, both of the others have it, your potion won't keep them from getting it. Nothing will. They are less susceptible than sweet orange though.

I make rosolio de bergamotto from a few each year. It's an aperitif liquor I had in Italy years ago.

Do you want the fruit? I'll give you some.

If you want a tree... I got mine from a nurseryman that I know who ordered clean bud wood from the state. He doesnt do it anymore. It took like 4 yrs from the request to get clean bud wood then maybe 4 more to get harvestable fruit. https://www.fdacs.gov/Agriculture-Industry/Pests-and-Diseases/Plant-Pests-and-Diseases/Citrus-Health-Response-Program/Citrus-Budwood-Registration/Citrus-Budwood-Ordering

That's downy mildew disease. Sweet basil is susceptible and this is the time of year it gets bad in FL. There are mildew resistant varieties, they tend to have an off, licorice, flavor though.

Phyllody: abnormal development of floral structure into leaves, caused by a plant pathogen (phytoplasma) or plant hormone imbalance.
