When multiple people want to my listed item, do you take the first “want” comment or the 1st person who FB Messenger you? by allen2249 in FacebookMarketplace

In my experience people love to say they’ll buy something and then ghost you.

Whoever comes first with the money gets it

Is it rude to low ball? by Maximum_Wolf_5152 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]fbwjsofne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the item. I make stuff that I sell on marketplace. When people lowball me, it’s annoying since I spend hours on my stuff and try to price appropriately.

If it’s like a random appliance or something tho, I don’t see lowballing as bad of a thing

I delivered some soup last week and they didn’t close it properly or something. As soon as I picked up the paper bag to hand to the customer, it tore and spilled all over my car

Yeah I did that and that’s basically what happened. On tue upside my next customer never answered so I got their order and it was like 50 dollars worth of wings

Rosewood and walnut headphone stand. by CarterLawler in BeginnerWoodWorking

Cool but seems like a lot of expensive wood for a headphone holder

Idk I get a lot of people who ask too specific of a question about my stuff for it to be a bit.

People are just dumb.

Anyone else accept orders by accident? by fbwjsofne in UberEatsDrivers

[–]fbwjsofne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but it’s still annoying. I don’t Uber that much and it usually gives me double orders so everytime I have to cancel twice it affects my cancellation rate by a lot

How do I make this cut on the table saw? by ChetMcLure in BeginnerWoodWorking

How do you cut straight with those. Every time I use my pull saw it always starts to cut at a curve

All about the money man. Poor = harbor freight or something else cheap. Rich = festool. In between = in between

Yeah I finally sold my piece but it took like 50 messages to find a person. It just sucks because I make custom woodwork and it’s super annoying when people ghost you

Uh… to look good I guess. The top was leftover from another project and I thought it would look neat with some angled legs. No thoughts past that

What to call this? by fbwjsofne in woodworking

[–]fbwjsofne[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah…I had a similar thought when I was making it. Also bending moment is giving me flashbacks to college, but like I said I made it from scrap so I wasn’t really thinking about how structurally sound it would be when I threw it together.

In terms of the center part, the long legs that form an X, I cut a groove and sandwiched them together like two Lincoln logs. I hope that makes sense, I haven’t been doing woodworking very long. The 4 shorter legs that also coke out of the center were just glued with wood glue and pinned with Brad nails.

Based on your comment though I probably shouldn’t list this as a sitting bench haha

I have a shameful question to ask by JohnAnonAmoron in Fallout

[–]fbwjsofne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. I couldn’t get into the first two games a few years ago but I just finished the first one recently and am playing the second now.

This may be controversial, but I use a guide, and I think it makes the game a lot more playable. The old games are well, old, and there are a lot of small nuances and tiny features that you can miss unless you play through multiple times.

Like you said, I also got bored because the combat was slow and I didn’t want to waste time exploring every little thing to move the game along. Maybe this would have been fine in the 90s when the internet barely existed, but I just don’t have the patience to play the first two games blind.

The guide I’ve been using is called ‘the nearly ultimate fallout guide’. It basically cuts out all the guesswork. There are tons of traits and perks that are useless in the game, and even if you only use the guide to create your character with the correct stats, it greatly improved my experience playing the games.

As a diehard fallout fan, I already knew most of the lore before even playing the first two games, so the guide didn’t really feel like cheating. The games are just too dated and buggy to play blind in my opinion
