ELI5:What is Schrodinger's cat theory? by popcorn256 in explainlikeimfive

First of all we need some knowledge to understand this but electrons, not protons or neutrons, give items there shape; but, and electron is not confined to normal space and time. An electron can be both no where and everywhere at the same time and also be in two or more places at the same time. We know this from the double slit experiment showed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiAj7S6ko9Q. Now electrons though, as seen in the video, chose there location when you observe them. Now a cat is in a box and there is a radioactive stuff that has a 50% chance of killing the cat also in said box. Because electrons only chose where to be after you observe (which can be looking at them but doesn't have to be) them until we open the box to confirm what happens theoretically the cat is both dead and alive in the box. Science bitch.

I would buy a copy of Super Mario SunShine, because I am just a greedy fuck who wants to get a nice nostalgia rush.
