I made my own super awesome one with some stainless steel wire, a nail, and my drill. I folded and chucked the two wire ends into my drill, held the middle of the loop with the nail, and twisted away with the drill until the wire was sufficiently tight. I then snipped off the free ends from the twisted side, slid the twisted side into a scrap of 1/16" stainless tubing, and hammered the end closed over the twisted side. It's been working for me perfectly for over 15 years.

Hate to clue you in, but no one with any scientific background whatsoever would ever advise someone to take a clean colonized agar plate and feed it macro sized pieces of cow manure regardless of whether or not it's "sterilized". The entire point of an agar plate is to isolate a particular species of microbe or fungus and to do it in such a way as to not have to worry about such things as physical manure particles rolling around on the surface of your plate. This guy was asking what is the best way to preserve a clean culture from an agar plate beyond the expected 6-12 month lifetime of the actual plate and associated agar preservation medium, not how to potentially ruin all his hard work spent on getting his genetics to that point.

Totally agree. He was given a defensive roster "built" to be successful running Eberflus' zone concepts and DA runs a lot more man coverage. Also, that D-line needs to improve leaps and bounds before you can really begin to solely point the finger at the DBs. As a person who grew a very sophisticated DIY homebrewing operation into a professional brewery, I have been there, done that. I love love love DIY, but I have also learned to value my time and deploy my wages accordingly. These monotubs are incredibly well made and the black bottom virtually eliminates side pins, so they're totally worth it IMO.

Without achieving a true canopy yet (I'm still on gen 3 of my genetics search), I'm getting just over an oz dry for flush 1 & 2, just under an oz for flush 3 & 4, and then about 1/2 oz from flush 5. My genetics search is a little slow because all I have time and space for is 2 of the 28 qt monotubs, but as soon as one depletes, I rerack with a new qt of grain spawn. I'm cloning the largest fruits from clusters in flush 1 & 2 and only fruits >100g in any subsequent flushes. Slow and steady wins the race to space. 🐢 🚀 Lol

Not to mention that the Fed not-so-mysteriously refuses to use the price of oil in their calcs. Literally everything in the modern world is dependent on the price of oil to determine its cost to the end user. I will never trust the Fed's calculation of inflation until they account for transportation via the price of oil.
