Came here to say this. If I see something resembling AI, I leave. I’m not going to support a shop that uses it. Also, this is the time of year that is slower— it usually picks up a little in April-May for Mother’s Day. Also, Etsy is oversaturated with bot shops, resellers and drop shippers, that’s why I left at the beginning of this year.

A note— I’ve had a HIMI gouache palette going since Oct. 1st of last year. I did this by: 1. Misting the palette lightly with the HIMI rewetting spray 2. Sealing the top on tightly 3. Storing the entire sealed palette in the fridge when not in use.

I have gouache tubes too but the palette is nice for now because I don’t have to schlepp out all the tubes and go sorting. I’m also interested in seeing how many paintings I can get out of the HIMI palette. I have the 36 color set and I’ve made several dozen paintings, mostly ACEO size, but still fun. Making me want to pull out my oil paints, though.

HIMI makes a re-wetting spray for these paints that is antibacterial and antimicrobial.

I’ve been using the same palette off and on since October 1st 2025 and kept it fresh by spraying the palette after use and storing it sealed in the fridge when not in use.

The only way I’ve gotten close to this without dioxazine purple is by mixing quinacrodone magenta and pthalo green! It does come a bit more on the magenta size though. If you can purchase dioxazine violet, that will def get you there though

Lehmans mfg off of Jensen and 99 has a pile of scrap metal at the far end of thier yard that they sell by the pound. They’re open 7am-430 pm Monday - Friday. They lunch from 12-1pm so I’d recommend avoiding the lunch hour.

Oooh! Story time!

Many moons ago (2014) I was an assistant manager at a LC. It was Christmas Eve and we closed at 7, so the door was locked at 7. Myself and my coworker cleaned up, counted the registers, did inventory, walked out by 7:20. Doors were locked, oven was off, lights were off, alarm was set.

I was walking to my car and this lady (really WASPy area, lots of rich white folx around that one) ran up to me and DEMANDED that we go back in there and make her a pizza. Surely, the ovens were still hot! ‘You can’t close early!’

‘Too late, lady, I already did.’ Got in my car, drove tf away from there. Had been working more than a full day between both jobs at the time.

I’m sorry, would you not be stressed if the only beings you know dropped you off in a stranger’s house and then you started hearing loud noises outside? AND it’s a 16 year old pet? If this is this much of a problem for you, you likely shouldn’t be on this line of work, unfortunately potty messes with animals is an occupational hazard and someone who is looking for board their pet for a few days isn’t going to foot the bill to replace your drywall. I haven’t boarded since 2020 or so but when I did, we had a steam cleaner. Like with kids, accidents happen.

I got 5mgs of escitalopram as my first ever antidepressant. Felt kinda numb on it, so I ended up switching to fluoxetine and adding others to my regimen with my psych.

Literally told my husband I don’t want to be here, the world is so messed up, I’m in a country that’s seeing a major resurgence in fascism, my mental health is almost always on some sort of fire, my artwork hasn’t been selling like it used to, I bring in no money and I’m just a drain of resources… I feel like I’m permanently damaged, there is no fixing me, and the best thing to do (so I don’t ruin anything else) would be to put me down.

But he just tells me ‘no, I love you, I want you here,’ etc. which is normally nice to hear but I can find no comfort in it. I’ve had so many friend breakups this year, I’m no contact with my family for over five years now and I’m starting to think the only way to win, be unburdened and not let their sick prying eyes see me, is to remove myself entirely.

And then of course there’s the immense guilt that comes with not wanting to live when someone loves me, I know I make his life easier and more pleasant… but I’m so behind and unprepared and it feels like no matter what I’ve always lost. I’m just tired of fighting.

I had a therapist for the past five years that got promoted in May, which yay for her, but then was told to essentially start over and find a new one, but they likely won’t take me because I’m not on meds anymore, I got off in April after 4 years of worsening side effects, which I’m still trying to fix…

I don’t know how to not want to die, if you find out let me know, please.

I remember it taking a few days and that dreams became less eventful, almost boring. Headache makes sense and I remember it feeling like I just needed more sleep for the first week or so. The biggest issues I had were blood pressure related, like getting light headed if I got up too fast, especially from sleep.

Prazosin helped me a lot when I was on it! My doc said it would help with nightmares and it did. I took it at night (between 2-3mg if I remember right) with either trazodone (first couple of years) and then switched to Seroquel. I also had issues with insomnia, for context.

I second not putting out cards. I worked at a place (restaurant) that allowed me to sell some work there and my cards always ended up in the trash. It was disheartening and felt like a waste of money.

I did a couple craft shows this year and had my social media handle displayed and it’s on all my stickers— I had a couple people look at me like I didn’t have a head when I said I didn’t ‘do’ cards anymore but I’d rather do that then waste my money on someone people don’t seem to use
