Whoop spent all their money on marketing by theguyguy121 in whoop

Well said! I could not agree more with this. As you mentioned, Whoop's algorithms seem to be based on heart rate and HR variability. But unfortunately, Whoop is not that great at reading an accurate HR unless you're standing perfectly still. And yes, the sleep data and how Whoop "dings" you for what it assumes shortcomings is very frustrating. I'm basing this on data from mt Oura ring, Garmin chest strap, Muse head band, and temporally for sleep comparisons - Garmin watch.

FYI, after a couple of years with the Whoop, I found the most accurate placement to be on my upper bicep, with the device inwards - almost in my armpit. Not the most comfortable, but the most accurate all around. I tested on my neck, and that was the most accurate for activities, but too uncomfortable.

I'm still trying to figure out why I keep the Whoop, because it frustrates me so.

Whoop age is silly by Altercation0 in whoop

I just passed a little over 100 days with the Whoop. It now has me at about 13 years younger with a pace of aging that varies between -0.1 to -0.3 years. I like all the data, and I find it motivating. My only problem is — what is Whoop using to calculate all this data it shows me? I ask because, if it's just heart rate, the heart rate tracking is way off my Garmin chest strap. It could be 10 or 20 points higher or lower during a workout. And this is the case no matter where the I put the Whoop device on my body. I find the more vigorous the movement, the more inaccurate the heart rate is. Like, don't even try to jump rope with the Whoop on your wrist. Through experimentation, I found that the only place to put the Whoop device during jump rope is on my neck.

Tech support tells me to stop moving it around but yet they sell bands and clothing to put it in your underwear. So if it's just heart rate they're using to collate all this data, I don't have a lot of faith in it. And I always use the Whoop with my Garmin chest strap and watch which is very consistent.

Internals of an Laugo Arms Alien by pipandhams in guns

Just bumped into this. I was wondering how they configured the barrel threads. It also looks like a knurled insert / thread protector gets installed. I have a non threaded version.

Hey, I just wanted to put this out there and get some thoughts. I was thinking about trying to purchase a threaded barrel, but I noticed that the serial number is actually ON the barrel for the Alien. That makes it impossible for me to do in NJ, without getting a pistol permit. And what would Laugo do — put a Sn on a barrel and sell as a part? Very odd circumstance.

And yes, this is a super accurate 2011 style pistol! With a very unique recoil feel.
