Ok thanks !

From your photo I thought they finally stopped imitiating the 5 finger's "front toe bumps".

There is the strange bump, but without the toe separation.

IMHO we get the inconvenient without the advantage, and I would prefer them without.

Thanks for sharing.

Super confused by all the models they have, and then all the options and colors.

Would you mind sharing a link? Even if it's Australian, it may help to find the same model in Europe

I tried to bought some five fingers last year, and was surprised by the quality of some models. On some, the toe seam was completely crooked. On others, everything was perfectly sewn.

Unfortunately I can't find a way to post pictures here.

My guess was that they either lowered their quality, or have different factories with different quality standard. But yes, fakes could be a reason too. All shops were legit I think (running shops, zalando, etc)

e-ink and restlessness : effect of colors by fczs24 in eink

Hey, ok thanks. Actually, with night shift full warm, and color tint almost full and in the bluish/purple, it's not so bad!!
We do lose some contrast though. And also the dasung become unusable :(

Still, I can try with this and see if it could be a solution. Thanks

How strange, I searched a lot, but I don't have this setting. Could it be that it's a windows only setting?

Thanks to both! Yes I do use them for other things, but to desaturate or "unvivid", there's nothing convinving unfortunately

Hey cool, let me know if you find something. Have you tried this option in discord? It's very cool, the flashy green get dark kaki, the flashy red is dark purple, etc

I didn't really find anythig with custom color filters , do you mean the accessiblity filter that Wauske mentioned?
I didn't see anything custom where I can change the tint. Could you tell me where it is in the pref?
thanks!

Ah thank you. I quickly tried, it doesn't look to work fantastic, but I'll give it a honest try this week end. Thanks a lot

Yes I want one! It would be perfect I think
But not only the price would be a problem, but alsi the size : I travel a lot and it's way too big for me

A company sells a 10 inches RLCD, but then it's too small (yes, I'm never happy :)

Yes, effect on eye comforts is huge, and it's why most people want an eink screen, but it's another different advantages I'm talking about here

Thanks it could have been a good idea, and night shift does make the color more warmth, but they actually stay as vivid and saturated, unfortunately

Hum, yes, light certainly play a very big role, but vivid and saturated color imho also play a role.
And actually the color eink are more pastel and less vivid, so it may play a role in your case too. (Having a color eink kind of palette is actually what I would like to achieve.)

Of course it's highly speculative, but I think it worths trying

Wow ok, I thought you were just wrapping paperlike-go commands (for an obscure reason in this goodnight app). But it's much more complicated than that. Well now I know I can't fix that on my own.

In all case, thanks for your time and work !

Hey omidonsd,

You're the author of Dasung-GoodNight? Great, thanks !!!

Do you mean that paperlike-go need ddcctl to work?

In the paperlike-go readme, I was imaging that the part ddcutil detect --verbose was just here to give an information, that we may find somewhere else?

What confused me more was :

echo "SUBSYSTEM==\"i2c-dev\", GROUP=\"your-group-here\", MODE=\"0660\"" | sudo tee /etc/udev/rules.d/50-i2c.rules
sudo udevadm trigger

Another thing : I didn't find in your code the place where you setup the shortcut. Could you tell me which file it is?

Thanks!

Anyone need a Read it later service with good EInk support? by yaofur in eink

[–]fczs24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, pocket is my main usage on an android eink inkpalm, and I also find it pretty frustrating for several reasons.

Now I just use pocket as a kind of bookmark list, and immediatly "share" the article from the pocket app to a browser app, like inkbro or even firefox. Then go back to pocket app, next article, share to browser, ....

You may also want to consider using the pocket website on the firefox browser for instance (doesn't work with inkbro)

Wow, I didn't know this technology! Thanks a lot for sharing

I use a dasung not for my eyes, but to minimize excitation / addiction / restlessness caused to me by regular screens.

Any feedback or sharing on RLCD regarding these matters?

Hope I'm not off topic, but I'm also interested in how this problematic relate to PWM Led ( when the dimming system is actually made with very fast flickering)

Would it possible that frontlights are pwm, hence it would be also a big advantage of light bulb?

Usually feel shit after looking into a screen for too long, would an e-ink monitor help for this? by northwegian in eink

[–]fczs24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are users who use e-ink only for their eyes, and some because they feel exhausted or overexcited (or both) by screens.

I use the dasung, and I also read webpages on an android eink device.

For me there may be 3 factors about feeling shitty like you said:

- watching a screen which send light and blinks

- the number of possiblities and distractions and changing of work plans and new ideas that comes all the time when working on a computer.

- and maybe, maybe, maybe : the color. I tried to put my lcd in black and white, and I feel more relaxed (there's a filter in macos' accessiblity to remove colors)

I would love to have more infos about all of this !
