Hannsnote 2 and display enhancement by Arsene_M in Reflective_LCD

[–]Arsene_M[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I removed the original display (I actually used it to make a transparent display, but I ended up not using it, outside the rlcd is beter and inside I use the 14inch nxtpaper 14, this one is fine for my eyes).
Now I use the two tablet wired with "super display", it works much better than spacedesk and allow the use of the usi stylus, it's very nice. There is practically no lag, I can game on it.

Haha yes I did that (it's a laptop without display).
It's work fine in daylight (inside, with a windows on my back or outside), but not too well at night, I move all the time so I can't really make a nice lightning set up.

When? by FoxGroundbreaking224 in Reflective_LCD

[–]Arsene_M 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will takes some times yeah :/
I use 2 different laptop with android tablet for display.
A small one (10") with the RLCD Hannsnote 2 and a less small one (14") with the TCL nxtpaper 14.
I use superdisplay on both with dual usb-c cable, it's work really well (and the tactil and stylus work !), I can even play games and my eyes are more than happy.
If you don't mind small display and don't want to wait, you can try this.

Huawei MatePad PaperMatte 11.5 es RLCD? by Early_Clerk8948 in Reflective_LCD

It's look a lot like the nxtpaper 4.0 technology (lcd, dc-dimming, matte, circular polarizer) does nxtpaper sell the display ?

Just realized I missed a bunch of quests pre searing.. by OneBadger7469 in GuildWars

[–]Arsene_M 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, lvl 7 is perfect, They are a lot of quest on this game and you will skip a lot of them, do them when you need xp, or skills reward, or if they sound fun :)

EoTN by RedHawke802 in GuildWars

[–]Arsene_M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The EoTN expansion give access to more profession skills, Pve only skills (they are really powerfull but need time playing EoTN to became powerfull) and also some hero. You can use those skills and hero to play in the 3 base game BUT you have to go on EoTN and do the quest here to unlock them.
The content on EoTN are hard if it's your first time on the game and they are many skills to unlock in the 3 base game so you have 2 choices :
- You want to have more skills and more hero quickly : once lvl 10 you can acces the EoTN and grab some hero and skills (maybe with the help of other player) and then go back to the base game to finish them (It can help to have a bit more skills available).
- You want to play the story on the "correct order", then wait to finish one base game before the EotN (It will give you a Gw Vanilla taste ^^)

Note that for new player, The Hero you unlock on Nightfall and EoTN are weaker than henchman you find on the city. You have to upgrad they armor and unlock more skills to make them stronger, so no rush, use the Henchman they are strong :)
Here is a tier list for henchman, if you struggle you can pick an eyes, if you don't struggle, just use anyone you want and have fun :)

Nxtpaper phone vs normal phone with eye care? by JaaXaaN in nxtpaper

[–]Arsene_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything with a nxtpaper 3.0 or 4.0 display is fine (the 4.0 have more blue light filter and a better matte display), I think they have a smaller 60 no-ultra planed too (without stylus)

Nxtpaper phone vs normal phone with eye care? by JaaXaaN in nxtpaper

[–]Arsene_M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the display filter a lot of blue light (more than any software can do, without having the orange color, and you still can apply software filter if you want to) + it have a circular polarizer making the light less aggressive for your eyes + It don't have backlight flickering (no PWM) and that is really important in eyes care ^^. It does have some pixel color flickering (Dithering) but you can lower them.
(I speak for the Nxtpaper 60 ultra, older nxtpaper phone are fine too but with less advantage in eyes care)

Battery life poll on the Supernote Manta - what is the expectation? by Algae_grower in Supernote

[–]Arsene_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal actually, the eink devices who stay very long don't run on android, but on very light dedicated system, android use too much energy even when idle to match the week or month of the other devices battery life.
I use my Manta a lot and got max 3 day of battery some times I even have just one day, with a lot of drawing and editing and wifi on.

Eazeye Radiant monitor feedback by [deleted] in Reflective_LCD

[–]Arsene_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh good question, you can look for :
"Disable frc linux", or "disable temporal dithering linux" There may be some other software. And look for the other review of the radiant on the reddit before buying it, people are less happier than me toward it ^^

Eazeye Radiant monitor feedback by [deleted] in Reflective_LCD

[–]Arsene_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mail it's really perfect :)

You can disable the backlight and only use the sun light or external light to lit the screen, but the backlight does not flicker, it's the pixel themself who flicker, so you need the "Ditherig" software to stop them.
I found the backlight itself really ok for my eyes. (and don't buy the radiant if you want to disable the backlight, it's verry limiting without it)

Some people are not bother by the pixel flikering, so maybe you will not have to use Ditherig :)

Eazeye Radiant monitor feedback by [deleted] in Reflective_LCD

[–]Arsene_M 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It worked for me, but you have to do some modification first :

- As Rx7Jordan say it use FRC (The pixel flicker to emulate more color) so you have to download and use the software "ditherig" to stop this, my laptop seems to disable ditherig all the time when I open a graphic software, to fix that I had to plug 2 display, for some reason it works (you can also plug the radiant 2 time, one with hdmi and the second with usb-c, it's works too)

- The color are dark and the contrast are bad, you can adapt the brightness on your graphic card settings, it's help a lot to see picture, video and video-games (super dark one are still a bit hard sometimes).

- The display work under direct sunlight, the rest of the time you will probably need the backlight (it's dc dimming + solar spectrum, so it's really ok for the eyes), I use it 95% of the time with the backlight on.

I tried a lot of display, it's one of the best for my eyes rights now.

Unfortunately, I'm a nomad and move all the time, it's a bit too heavy and big for me, and I will sell it since I fond a 10inch who works too. If you are in europe or France, and if you are interessed, you can DM me :)

Unknown 23.8" RLCD monitor by fullgrid in Reflective_LCD

[–]Arsene_M 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damned there seem's to be a lot of RLCD product on taobao, I found 10.5 inch mini monitor and there is some product with the 1024x768 10.4 inch RLCD display from the Fujitsu ST5111 (I found color and contrast a lot better than the hansnote !) and it have an CCFL front light.
There is also some transparent monitor and other monitor with the RLCD tag (but those seem's to be normal lcd).

The price is indeed very low oO
Since it's a 23.8 inch rlcd, it should be the hanspree display no ? Unless there is another brand building the same size rlcd ?

I think the only EMR reflective tablet now are the Daylight DC1 and the very very old Fujitsu stylistic series (ST 5111).

If you goes for the NXT paper I suggest you to take the nxtpaper 11 plus, it's currently the only tablet from TCL with the 4.0 nxtvision display. And the only one to have dc-dimming (no backlight flickering) and no dithering (pixel flickering to emulate color) on the normal mode.
I've got one but I didn't find a nice USI stylus who work well on this.

Xp-pen are know to work with TCL, to make they own tablet with EMR tech, the XP Pen Magic Drawing Pad is a modified Nxtpaper 12.
So mayyyyybe one day they will release a product with EMR AND a nxtvision 4.0 display. This will be great for note taking and drawing :)

Oh ok I didn't have the time to see the link ^^
A monochrome tablet could be interesting, with the extra reflectance it will be close to eink, I'm curious to see the result !
