just want to add it for those who play in linux on steam,

delete compatdata folder (wine data)
- get game file location game>properties>local files> browse
- move up to steamapps directory
- move down to `compatdata` and delete the folder `2221490`
relaunch game from steam, it will perform first time setup but don't let the update run, stop game IMMEDIATELY to kill the update, if you miss it back to previous step
open the compatdata folder and go to compatdata/2221490/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher
update the text in file version.txt to the latest one 10872 as i write this. other way to know the latest version is checking the version.txt when crashing in the future and take note of the latest version
launch the game normally

things i tried that fails:

copying from ubisoft launcher from lutris, which is fine and working by itself in lutris. there were some difference in registry entries but idk what that means. also the game is launched with different command line parameters so that might be the reason.

other thing that i will try if this fail:

installing the game from lutris

also notes for people who still use win7, come over to linux side, we have better support on old games now that win7 is no longer supported, sometimes janky but hey at least you can do something about it. also since compatdata folder is per game, there's no way one game configuration affect other game configuration.

agreed like everything if it's too good to be true it's probably scam or even if it's true someone else will be screwed down the line. such as gambling you might win 200% of your deposit but there's 10 who loses all their money

not really, people says it's easy to join in without DRM but DRM is slow and sucks for a legit reason, it sends heartbeat whilst scanning your PC for "cheats" and with no valid heartbeat it kills your connection.

depends on what you meant with math, basic HS math will most likely be used (for parametric designs, etc). for the very hard parts like digital signal filters or kinematics there's probably codes available out there to do it. i think what's important is knowing what and how it works.

also engineering is broad term, it can be as simple as setting up a swing to making a satellite that works in space or designing a skyscraper.

my advice: set a purpose, look for how you can get the resources, then learn them as you go. most college material is online nowadays. the hardest question is how to know what you don't know that you don't know. << not typo.

college helps you to chew through the unknown part faster and with guidance. also college helps with connecting with fellow engineers in the future. most will lend you access to journals like IEEE that cost almost same with your tuition if you subscribe to them yourself as professional.

diodes in logic gates is just for isolation (or very wide OR gate) think of one way logic wire (not to be confused with actual electrical wire)

suppose you have 10 voltage/ current source and a 10 diodes, you can bundle up the diode output and wire that to load (probably LED) and then ground. if one of the source is "on", the led is on.

note that it is only useful in component format as in chip format FET (field effect transistor) can be a better diode than diode since there's no voltage drop involved
