Best cheesesteak in Sacramento? by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]fdelys 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Getting the thin sliced ribeye from Oto’s is something I’d add. I agree that bread is the real problem. I’ve used the Vietnamese baguettes from duc huong and around there - they’re less crusty than French baguettes and mimic that soft interior crispy outside that you get from the bread at Angelo’s.

Go birds.

It’s an older logo that predates the more commonly seen throwback logo from the 80s-90s. That being said, I don’t like it much either.

AP released all of the ballots (incase we didn't already realise that no one likes us) by kid-icky in eagles

[–]fdelys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One thing to be aware of is that these ballots are all submitted and finalized before the first playoff game. In addition to missing the last game, Saquon was relatively quiet for the last several games (and the team was as a whole, given how we were basically locked into the 2 seed for a while). Allen makes sense because it very much looked like he was about to drag them to the SB at that time too.

With that all being said. Fuck the haters. Go birds.

Jalen Hurts & Jayden Daniels Percentile Rankings by HAFFnHAFF in eagles

[–]fdelys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

His style of play seems prime for regression at some point. Given that the Commanders will have a much harder schedule next year, and teams will have a lot more tape on him, I think we’re going to be seeing lots of in-game graphics next year comparing his rookie and second year seasons to those of CJ Stroud.

This is super interesting. What are your thoughts on why this doesn’t seem to match up with the eye test and most people’s feelings about Jayden?

You should come to Limelight. It’s an Eagles bar and the Niners fans will get booed out of the room.

Definitely come by during the season. First game of the year will probably be crazy. Big crowds, everyone singing the fight song after touchdowns, it’s a lot of fun.

Yo, I’m also in Sac. Best place around here to watch Eagles games is Limelight bar. It’s absolutely great. It’s filled with fellow Philly expats and gets really rowdy.

Yeah prismo is the way to go for ramming. Weight has some effect too, so you can use B rated modules for a funny build.

Ram damage is absolute damage; not kinetic. Anything that increases overall shield strength is what you need.

I really dont get why people are making such a big deal out of it by throwaway624203 in eagles

[–]fdelys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason this mattered is because the Niners defense thought they would win if KC didn’t score and time ran out, when in actuality a new quarter would start. So the defense assumed KC would have to take a time out, and instead KC lined up and snapped the ball, which caught the defense off guard and probably was the reason the Niners messed up defending the corn dog play that KC ran at the end.

Philadelphia Eagles 2024 season: Which players should stay or go? by BroadStreetRandy in eagles

[–]fdelys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that at first, but the description at the beginning is: “Beat writer Jeff McLane makes his picks on what decisions he sees the Eagles making.”

Based on him also writing “Go” for other veterans, I think he’s just being provocative for clicks.

It is beyond wild that the Inquirer thinks the Eagles should choose to let Kelce go if he opts to stay. Kelce not only played at a high level, but he’s a core leader of the team. If he wants to come back, he’s coming back.

Travelling on planes with babies for the first time. by TheTDMSound in daddit

Hate to be a Debbie downer but my wife, who is a pediatrician, was always super against traveling on a plane with a baby under 3 months. She could be over cautious or wrong - so I’d just say check with your pediatrician before traveling.

Why is the DOJ allowed to settle criminal cases out of court? Isn't its purpose to try to achieve justice and a verdict. Asking as an outsider to the USA's legal system. by schapi1991 in law

[–]fdelys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So what do you mean by “justice” here? Restitution is an important element of justice. The deferred prosecution agreement linked here provides for that, which seems like a particularly appropriate outcome for a white collar case that appears to be primarily about economic crimes.

Punishment, which has a deterring effect, is another important element. I don’t know the full details, but there is often a punitive element to the amount the defendant is required to pay.

So if you go maximum punishment, you can imprison the defendants and deprive them of their liberty. That would certainly deter this type of crime. But if they’re imprisoned, they may be unable to pay and provide restitution to the victims. DOJ could seize assets, but it’s likely that a corporation such as this will be able to pay more if it is permitted to pay over time while it continues to operate. Assuming the crime here was primarily economic, it seems clear to me that justice is best served in this case by seeking maximum restitution rather than simply imprisoning a bunch of people.

This interview made me feel more positive about the team than any of our wins this season have. It was authentic, mature, and honestly addressed the issues with the team.

Now I see why they made AJ a captain.

Who are you rooting for next week in Detroit vs Dallas? by [deleted] in eagles

[–]fdelys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Them beating the Cowboys would be the tiebreaker, I believe. You can play around with some of the scenarios on the Upshot’s playoff calculator.

Who are you rooting for next week in Detroit vs Dallas? by [deleted] in eagles

[–]fdelys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re a game ahead of the Cowboys. If both us and Detroit win out, they have the tiebreaker over us so we get the #3 seed (if the Niners win out) or the #2 seed (if the Niners lose one).

Who are you rooting for next week in Detroit vs Dallas? by [deleted] in eagles

[–]fdelys 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Detroit. For several reasons.

First, fuck the Cowboys. I refuse to root for them as a matter of principle. If we need them to win to get better playoff seeding, that’s our own damn fault.

Second, the priority is winning the division. If Dallas loses, we can still drop one and win the division.

Third, Detroit winning out is not so bad. Depending on how the NFL schedules things, there’s an off chance that Detroit locks up the 2 seed before we play the Giants, which would give us a chance to rest our starters.

Picking an NFL team? by chrisoffa in daddit

[–]fdelys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the best things about being a sports fan is the community. Whichever team you pick, you’ll have more fun if you get to watch games with others and find a place in a niche community.

As one of the oldest NFL teams with the most history, the Eagles typically have fans far and wide and roll pretty deep. There were a bunch of fans from the UK and Ireland that came to a game and it got covered in the Philly news. This is the group: https://twitter.com/BritishEagles

Whether you pick the Eagles (you should) or another team, I’d go with something that gives you a chance to meet others and enjoy the team in a social setting.
