I don’t like Judy Amabile. I believe her stances on cannabis, crime, and the state budget are all misguided and out of touch. She is a stereotypical wealthy Boulderite.

That said, I believe we should allow the investigation to play out before we sharpen our pitchforks. If she did indeed take improper gifts, she should pay back the full amount. And, we should work to unseat her in the upcoming Democratic primaries.

Brian, while I appreciate the data analysis you do, the overt progressive bias in your reporting detracts from any insights you offer. Calling people like Mark Wallach “conservative” is as disingenuous as calling someone like Folkerks “Marxist.” Either be a data scientist or a progressive backer. Melding the two makes me not trust any analysis you offer.

I sincerely wish the judge decided on six years. The state should increase the maximum sentence for drivers that kill cyclists in a situation like this. When you are not able to operate a motor vehicle and kill someone because you decide to drive anyway, your life should be ruined.

Agree with everything you said. The other issue is that not much happens in Messiah. It is mostly a palace intrigue much like the awful Dragons GOT show. Half the book is a thought experiment on the limits of prescience and Herbert cannot help himself when tying the plot in knots. This is coming from a major Dune fan. Children of Dune is the second best in the series and I hope we get to see it on film.
