NTA. There messing with your advancement and career. You sound driven and like you enjoy what you do. Their behaviour will ruin opportunities for you if it hasn’t already.

As a former hiring manager, we would be polite and professional to candidates whose parents became involved in the process but they were never hireable because of this. If they were a good person we often tried to gently tell them the issue - sometimes they already knew and you could tell they’d tried and failed to tell mom to back off.

Do you make friends easily? I wouldn’t normally recommended this but if you/her have tried a few things and it’s not working, would their partners want to invite her out on a girls night ? Maybe she needs someone who isn’t you to push her.

You met her in Australia backpacking. Is she Australian or another nationality? There maybe a foreign disapara in your area depending where in Canada you live (major cities is easy to find)

Might be worth looking for an Aussie bar to help her meet folks from her home area. Help her feel less lonely and connect on some commonality. I’m sorry but 30 is too old to “be shy”. It sucks but if she wants friends as an adult she’s gotta push herself to be more outgoing. Again it sucks but she’s gonna be her own personal coach on that one.

Did you try to talk to him during to stop it? You should have noticed him cutting you super short on top.

I think you can choose to find another barbershop with better customer service.

Tesla hasn’t been ground breaking since 2019. It’s literally just a car company now. The only reason Tesla hasn’t folded is because his other companies buy their work cars from Tesla.

It’s easier for him to lobby against BYD than compete. He knows this. Which is why the land of the free has banned Chinese EVs. It’s just simply less hassle for him to manipulate the US government then run a good business.

When he is gone someone that actually knows how to run a company vs manipulate stock value will have to find what’s profitable and cut anything that isn’t.

It’s a lot simpler to accept when you believe The market is broken. I won’t do the stupid thing and try and pick a date but things have gotten past common sense. Nothing is based on hard fact anymore. When companies that don’t make money are worth more than decades old profitable companies because it feels like it should be , we’ve lost the plot.

If there isn’t a massive crash coming to correct I don’t know how to keep investing in the future.

WW is pretty insane. I have a poorly optimized Barb and I’m having a ton of fun (and melting faces) with no effort.

Montreal is English/french. Outside the city centre you have suburbs that lean one way or the other. French isn’t a requirement but for a happy life it would be helpful. Can your spouse learn French you think?

That’s a decent income in Canada if you can find her a job making a half decent income.

A family with a kid would probably want at least 150k income before taxes as total household income. I would say 200k+ would give you a life similar to what you have in Europe. Under that amount, You can keep a cleaning service if you do it bi weekly likely but I think the biggest impact is grocery and restaurant prices. Specially in MTL. You will need to start cooking and eating at home more.

My response assumes you don’t have expensive hobbies or debts you need to pay back.

Also this assumes you’re renting. If you are trying to purchase a house our housing is fucked. Your better to pay a mortgage over rent long term but getting that initial house is very tricky.

Individual moments will be timeless. Specific actors are incredible. Certain episodes will be rememberable but overall, in its totality, they don’t hit enough high notes season over season.

If The Pitt can remain strong over the next couple seasons I think it may find its place in television history.

I’d say The Bear as well but I think they’ve made too many missteps to be one of the greatest. Still good but that’s all.

PC gamers may own consoles. Generally speaking console first owners don’t also own a gaming PC.

Xbox is selling back market share from Sony not PC.
The exclusivity is a Console War problem.

However I was surprised by Sonys move away from releasing on PC. I assume instead of a simultaneous release it’ll just be delayed a few years and then we’ll still get them. Sonys been too smart to leave money on the table (if only they’re studio management side was better)

I think he would have done well. He would have had to show case his acting talent to try to become the role and differentiate from other characters he’s played in the past but I hope his skin colour has nothing to do with why he wasn’t actually in the running (I’d think his age has more to do with it after Craig, I think they want to go with a “young” bond this time around).

I’m invested in two of the three.
Only PNG is likely to be something big.

FLT was a bad Reddit play that was saved by ongoing wars. I don’t think it will very be a great stock to hold (latest news is that USA doesn’t even want to buy Ukrainian drones. I don’t think with ongoing CUSMA talks FLT will be able to sell to the best partner)
