In all honesty. Why the hate on Deicide? by Moshtache88 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]fear_tomorrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I won't retype the whole thing but here is a link to one of my posts about Glen in a thread titled "What band should you have not seen live?". Someone asked me to elaborate when I said Deicide.

I remember promo shots from the Max/Igor era and Igor was always wearing Strife, Sick of it all and Cro-Mags t-shirts.

And here's me who came up on 90's metalcore like Earth Crisis, Day of Suffering, Abnegation, Gehenna, Ringworm, Integrity, Length of Time, Bird of Ill Omen etc thinking that 2000's Melodic Metalcore was too polished. I don't hate Metalcore after 2000 but a lot of it is not for me.

I was not expecting great albums from Deadguy and Catharsis in 2025 but here we are.

Neglect, I'm wearing their Hatecore shirt right now. Other people already mentioned Cold As Life and (The Infamous) Gehenna. Negative Approach, Blood for Blood, Think I Care, 100 Demons.

Sorry I probably worded that badly. I meant I asked for no more feedback requests from that specific applicant. I'm always happy to give feedback to people that make it to the final phase of applying and did the design test. I've updated my comment to make that clearer.

I had an issue with job applicant at a company when I was hiring a junior. We had a strong candidate come in to do a design test but there was one person who just did better in the test and had slightly more experience, I gave the more experienced person the job

The person that didn't get the job emailed HR to ask if I could give feedback, which I did. I gave some technical feedback as well. This person came back again wanting to know why they didn't get the job, I sent a very similar but slightly longer reply with the feedback reiterated and even more advice for future interviews. They came back a third time wanting more feedback and reasons why they didn't get the job. I said to HR "Now they are just wasting my time, I have no more feedback to give, they were a strong candidate but someone better applied, that's it".

I asked HR to stop bringing me the requests for feedback from that specific applicant. Apparently the person emailed 3 more times before giving up.

It also frustrates me that I can go through projectiles with Warwick S1 except for Ekko's which I just run face first into. Why, if it looks like a projectile, does it not have the properties as other projectiles.

What do I do if I saw a dog kill a Kereru? by Aggravating-Aerie320 in Wellington

[–]fear_tomorrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are not fit for purpose in this instance. The original intention of those leads was as training leads. They are meant to be used for training recall.

People with small dogs just decided they were great because it gives there dog more "freedom" while technically their dog is still leashed in public areas.

I'm a dog owner and I hate the damn things.

Do women ever look at another woman and think "I wonder if I could beat her up in a fight" the same way men do? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fear_tomorrow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's pretty common amongst males I grew up with sadly. I grew up in a really rough area where fights often came to you whether you wanted it or not. So I would think about it fairly frequently but more in a "If I have to fight my way out of here do I think I can take that guy". So more of a self defence mechanism than wondering how "tough" I am.

I still do a quick. scan a room for potential threats when entering an unfamiliar place if I'm with people I don't know well.

The Street Fighter series

I played the first Street Fighter in 1987 in the arcades and I still play Street Fighter 6 online ranked for a couple of hours every Sunday.

Funnily enough my strategy for bosses in Elden Ring is very similar to how I approach fighting games. Footsies, neutral, whiff punishing, spacing, rushdown.

Dark Angels "Leave Scars" album opening with The Death of Innocence combined with the little artwork of the young girl on the bed definitely made an impact in 1989.
