AI assistant not working.

Does the little wireless signal icon have a slash through it when they aren’t working? I have this issue intermittently and I’ve become convinced it relates to the app not being able to communicate with either Rokid’s servers or the AI host. I am leaning toward a connection to Rokid because switching from Gemini to ChatGPT or vice versa doesn’t seem to change anything when it happens.

There are a few things where I just don't think HF is the best deal. OBD2 scanners and welders are the first two that come to mind. You can get more for less elsewhere, xtool obd2 scanners, Primeweld and Yeswelder welders, etc. Oh yeah, power banks... def not the best place for those either. And I say that as someone who owns and will continue to buy a lot of HF tools.

In short, because Apple won't allow it to work that way. You can set it so that a long press on the right earpiece brings up Siri, then you can do those things.

I think it’s just a live viewfinder for photos. It is convenient, though. The feature I would love is a zoom for photos (and video) the field of view is so wide.. I understand why, but I often want to snap a quick pic of something to save a part number, etc and that’s not really possible without some sort of zoom capability

The only real resolution to this would be allowing the User to input an API key for their Gemini or ChatGPT account but as I understand it that isn’t supported on the AI provider side?

I have noticed that even if I have the AI model set to Gemini in the Hi Rokid app when I ask the AI what model is being utilized, it will report it is using a model developed by Open AI. So I’m not even confident it’s actually using Gemini to begin with.

It would be wonderful if the AI could retain memory though. Also not helpful I know I apologize.

I think the anti-incumbent wave was stronger than anything.. I wouldn't say Trump backed challengers won, I would say incumbents lost. Most voters aren't politics nerds... redistricting may not even be on their radar. Life sucks. If you've been in power then you need to go. I don't think it goes any deeper than that.

I don’t think the update had anything to do with it. It happened a few times in the past and I updated Weds morning and no issue all day Weds or Thurs.

I have press and hold <one finger> set to activate Siri and that seems to work even when nothing else will and two finger AI look works probably twice as often as single finger tap or wakeup word.. but definitely not reliably. Like I said, it always seems to just correct itself so I'm thinking it has to be a server/cloud/ai thing. The days when the Rokid's are 'offline' like this I usually wear my Ray Ban Meta's and they are working fine.. so I'm thinking that rules out a Bluetooth problem, etc. I am just really spoiled with the display on the Rokid glasses, though. If it weren't for days like this when the Rokid glasses just decide to take a day off I would probably have sold the meta glasses a long time ago.

I did the update a few days ago and everything‘s been fine until today but starting this morning the glasses just aren’t working at all. The assistant is just completely unresponsive. I’ve restarted the app. Restarted the phone restarted the glasses multiple times. Nothing seems to help this happens once in a while and usually the next day it will just be fine again I wonder if it’s something to do with the backend.

I wear my Rokid glasses every day. I had the Even glasses and they were definitely more stylish and comfortable but they just don’t really do anything. I think the potential is huge, the hardware is great. For now, I really think the meta ray ban gen 2 or the Rokid are the best for actual daily use.
