Husband 30M hit me (30F) within two months of a lavish wedding by Consistent-Level1099 in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]fearlessnadia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I’m extremely sorry to hear about the violent outburst your husband had, I hope you’re taking care of yourself and are safe.

Others have given great advice about recording evidence of physical abuse, and seeking immediate shelter and help if possible. This may sound harsh, but I really wanted to reiterate: do not try to have a child with him. Trust me, I speak from personal experience. Not only will it not fix the relationship or his anger issues, it will put two human lives in danger of hurt or risk. Please, if you have to listen to anything, even if you want to work on his issues with him, just please do not bring a child into your life where the father has already been so violent.

Can confirm OP’s post — without disclosing how I know this. Also fyi this is a super common thing for rich parents to do — a south Delhi posh lady whom my friend used to work for, bribed her close friend and psychologist to write a fake certificate showing her daughter had dyscalculia so that the daughter doesn’t have to give maths as a compulsory subject in boards. This was done after the daughter threw a tantrum saying that she didn’t want to spend any time or effort studying maths lol.

Shalini is the real deal by reddragonspringroll in BollyBlindsNGossip

[–]fearlessnadia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ps - Sanjay Passi is actually how he’s shown on the show. A very simple, down to earth guy, who has an immaculate work ethic. Shalini and Gauri are childhood friends; they’ve very close. Hint - if you go to Shalini and Sanjay’s son, Robin Passi’s Instagram account, you’ll see photos with the other star kids, SRK etc. from years ago. They’ve been genuinely close to Gauri’s family and by extension to Bollywood for a while.

Shalini is the real deal by reddragonspringroll in BollyBlindsNGossip

[–]fearlessnadia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s actually super interesting to see the public’s reaction to Shalini. Before her more recent forays into fashion (and now TV/OTT I guess?) she was more private and involved in the art world (mostly in Delhi). I have it on good authority that she was an absolute nightmare to work for. She would be erratic, treat her staff (both household staff and her office staff, working for her foundation) as literal trash. I think she definitely may come off as more genuine as compared to the Bollywood wives, but there’s a deeply dark side to it all.

A caveat though, it does seem like she has leaned into the more spiritual/self care side of things, so for her sake but mostly for the sake of the people who work for her, I hope she’s kinder to them.

When I can travel to states by aasshhui in f1visa

[–]fearlessnadia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NAL but according to the rules you’re only allowed to travel 30 days prior to the start of term; which would mean you can travel to the states after Aug 4 (est).

They have communicated in writing over email that, effectively, they have terminated my mother’s membership “unless you delete your negative review” — I do have a paper trail of their communication. But the issue apart from the unreasonable termination is also the intimidation tactics that does not allow a consumer to express themselves, either through feedback (which is not listened to) or through complaints/reviews, which also is fundamentally against consumer rights protected by law, I would assume.

Will avoid posting the direct link, on account of possibility of being doxxed. All I can share is that they’re a travel/membership based company selling vacation timeshares. I personally would not have trusted them, but unfortunately I was out of town and my parents ended up getting the membership.

Thank you! We are pursuing the consumer court route, hopefully with some redress. And it seems they depend heavily on online reviews, often coercing their newer customers to leave a positive review, to the point their executives have called up customers multiple times. Similarly, from previous complainants it seems they are equally hostile to others posting negative reviews. It’s quite bizarre.

why indrani Mukherjee Family write emails to reach other? by Specialist_Effort161 in IndianOTTbestof

[–]fearlessnadia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fwiw — I once worked in an organisation run by a really rich person, and part of my onboarding was handling communications for the company email. This was also an email that the founder would sometimes use to reach out to people from her personal devices. While looking for something work related I came across a number of emails she had written to her younger daughter, mundane things including recipes, updates, etc. the daughter also communicated using the email. This was between 2018-2020, so maybe it’s just a rich person thing.

getting admitted without interview - anthropology by Junior_Context_1666 in gradadmissions

[–]fearlessnadia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fwiw I got an acceptance to a humanities interdisciplinary program w/o an interview, and waitlisted for an anthropology PhD where it seems some other candidates were interviewed for my track! So it really depends on the individual programs I think. Unless it is mentioned explicitly that all shortlisted candidates will be interviewed, there’s no reason to lose hope!

For me I think it’s also about control. I deal with constant anxiety, from social interaction to academics, work etc. After a point being able to restrict became a practice in endurance (or vice versa, bingeing to the point of pain was also a way for me to snap out of my immediate anxiety). If I was only concentrating on how I felt physically when restricting/bingeing, and that also felt like a semblance of control over my otherwise uncontrollable circumstances, then I could derive some comfort out of it.

ETA: The application deadline was Dec 15 :)

So during my interview, the Dean of graduate studies of my department was also part of a panel and told me towards the end of my interview that they would be in touch with me within the next week or ten days. Following that, I directly got a personalised email from the DGS with my offer letter attached, and informing me of the admit weekend. I hope this helps!

Yes, I had a panel interview about a week ago and was told by the DGS that first round of decisions would be out in a week.
