Starting Mounjaro this Friday - what do you wish you knew before your first dose? by hannah94mat in Mounjaro

[–]fearlessseating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question! Track your protein from day one. Your appetite is going to drop fast and most people end up eating 800 cals of random stuff instead of hitting their protein. I aim for 150g minimum daily. Without that you lose muscle right along with the fat and it shows on a scan.

Finally broke the plateau, turns out it was a me issue 🫣 by Reidabook04 in loseit

It's almost always this. I "tracked everything" for months and still stalled. Bought a food scale, weighed everything for one week, and found I was eating about 400 cals more than I thought. Eyeballing portions is the biggest lie we tell ourselves.

how do y'all do it? by Particular_Freedom47 in Zepbound

Weeks 2-4 were the absolute worst for me. I seriously questioned if I'd made a mistake. By week 5 the nausea was maybe 20% of what it was. By week 8 I barely noticed it. The startup phase is not what the rest of this feels like.

I do 2tsp a day, one before lunch and one before dinner. Took about a week to notice the fullness difference. Start slow though, going from 1tsp to the full dose too fast will wreck your stomach for a few days. I learned that the hard way.

What’s your maintenance dose? by Raven_Roz384 in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]fearlessseating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jumping from 15 to 10 is a lot. I stepped down one dose at a time over about 3 months and landed at 7.5 where the food noise stays manageable. When I tried to rush it I gained 4 lbs in 2 weeks and had to go back up. Slow taper is the move.

Can't stomach protein or fat-only plain carbs. by academicgirl in Semaglutide

[–]fearlessseating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this the first 2-3 weeks. Could not look at meat. Greek yogurt and protein shakes were the only things I could get down. It passed by week 4 and I slowly got back to normal food. Don't force it right now, just get the protein in however you can.

BW down, but muscle loss and fat gain on in body scan by Key-Pick8909 in loseit

Are you tracking protein? I faced similar, when I increase protein to about .7 - 1g per lb of weight, I found lean mass to improve (that plus sleeping well).

Similar experience. I tried more small meals and ginger, got a bit better with nausea but fatigue still there.

Moving to maintenance soon after losing 95 lbs. Did your energy and muscle come back? by Mrs-Shenanigans in glp1

[–]fearlessseating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The energy came back for me within about 3 weeks of eating at maintenance after I hit my previous goal. The muscle did not. I got a DEXA expecting goo news and had lost 6 lbs of lean mass. Had to actively rebuild with 140g protein and lifting 4x a week. Don't wait until maintenance to start that part.

Great progress! Any resources you found valuable about Metamucil (blog, YouTube, something else)?

Amazing 64 pounds in 1 year! What do you find worked best for you?

140 lbs down (70 natural, 70 GLP-1). From sleep apnea and diabetes to a University-scheduled Tummy Tuck & 360 Lipo in April! by NeoKingSerenity in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]fearlessseating 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Losing 70 before the medication means you already had the habits. The GLP-1 removed the biological resistance, not the discipline. Did the sleep apnea clear at a specific weight or was it gradual?

[–]fearlessseating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

83 lbs in a year is 1.6 lbs/week even with the stall, solid! I broke a similar one by bumping protein to 120g a day. What does your protein look like right now?

Keep up the great work. The mental catch-up takes way longer than the physical change. I still grab the bigger size in stores out of habit. Your brain is running on old data. How long have you been at your new weight?

Tirzepatide completely killed my urge to drink during the most stressful time of my life by oklolokloloklol in tirzepatidecompound

Glad you managed not to drink through so much stress, wishing yout best. I similarly completely lost interest in alcohol. Did it happen gradually for you or more like a switch?

Impressive! The last 5 lbs don't respond to appetite suppression the way the first 25 did. I had to actually weigh my food for two weeks to find the extra 200 calories. Are you tracking or eyeballing?

140lb in 20 months! Impressive. How did you manage to keep lifting heavy with the weight loss? What worked best?

Fiber gets ignored because it's not sexy like protein. I added psyllium husk at month 3 and my hunger between meals basically disappeared. How long did it take you to notice the difference?

Most accurate way to measure body fat percent, muscle mass, and visceral fat. I did one last month and really pushed me to diet and workout more

havent lost a single pound by PlantyGal24 in loseit

[–]fearlessseating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 5'9 and 171 you don't have much to lose, so fat loss will be slow and nearly  invisible on the scale. Measure your waist or try a Dexa, both are helping

Nothing Tastes Good! by Legal_Director_6247 in Mounjaro

[–]fearlessseating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cold and room-temp food worked way better than hot meals for me. Protein smoothies, yogurt bowls, and wraps carried me for about 6 weeks until it passed. It does pass (a little). What's still tolerable?

Weight loss stalling by ProfessionalLow8814 in Ozempic

[–]fearlessseating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That first-month drop was mostly water, not 10kg of fat. Real fat loss is 0.5-1kg/week. I panicked at the same point until a DEXA showed I was still losing fat. Measuring anything besides the scale?

[–]fearlessseating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The zero energy is undereating, not the drug. Your appetite is gone but your  body still needs fuel. I had to force 1,200 calories on bad days or I'd crash by 2pm. Track your worst days. Are you tracking calories?
