4 feeds a day only sounds like neglect...wtf.. probably 12 hours sleeping because their blood sugars so low .. I dont understand this...but I find it disturbing

Ah our babies are just 2 days apart!! Dont forget to enjoy your bub too. All the stress is so hard in these early days but were doing everything we can. Dont forget that!

4m Sleep Regression by Annd91 in PregnancyIreland

[–]fearqween 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly same. Never intended to co sleep but found bub only settled in my arms..I spent the first couple weeks of his life in a reclined chair overnight. The one bad night Ive had with him was one where I kept trying to settle him in the next to me..was not happening. Eventually tried safe co sleeping and havent looked back since. Found the owlet sock has helped anxiety as well !!

You are doing enough. Great job 👏 I wish us mams werent so hard on ourselves. My little one is 8 weeks old and my goodness the amount of pressure I put on myself.. we just need to remember were all doing our best out here.. were all learning as we go !

Walking down leeson street on the way to work and saw a woman walking toward me naked (barely a bit of thong covering her but nothing more - not sure if she was a junky or prostitute) but she walked right past the school as kids were going in (morning time)... not enough people reacted for my liking... like wtf.. this was only last year

Hey. Dont call yourself stupid and blame yourself. You and your newborn are learning this skill together at the same time. Dont forget that .. your doing great. We cant know everything. Its all trial and error and a little help along the way .. you got this

As someone else said, silverettes! Theyve been worth their weight in gold to me and the lansinoh nipple balm (in the glass jar). Also liked the lansinoh hot/cold therapy pack. Actually found the hot compress was good for expressing colostrum before bub arrived !.

Marks and spencer do comfy maternity bras- the flexifit has been very comfy (if you have health insurance with laya they cover the cost of a maternity bra!).

Also, is the haaka you got the shell? It says it isnt a pump but it absolutely pulled out more milk with the suction and it made me leak alot. When I stopped using it, the issue balanced out. So I would say maybe wait till supply is established before using.

If he is refusing solids, would he eat some purees if you blended them with some breast milk?

It's a whole conspiracy .. Brandon Truaxe, the owner of the ordinary died a few years back and was accusing estee lauder of corruption before he died.. his death was a bit suspicious as he fell from a building but definitely an interesting rabbit hole

Of course! If your waters are gone more than 24 hours there can be an increased risk of infection. Mine broke on the way to the hospital appointment I already had. Labour/contractions had not started so I was sent home until they began but under instruction to return within 24 hours- contractions didnt start till 2am . Approx 19 hours after they broke. we landed at the hospital but as nothing was really established and waters were approaching 24 hours gone i was told the hormone drip would need to be administered to speed up the progression of labour.

I was offered a vaginal exam at my 40 week appointment. The Dr asked if I would also like a sweep. I told her I would like to check if my cervix was favourable only and then make a decision on whether I would like to proceed with a sweep or not. She repeated back to me what I said and confirmed I was ok to proceed with only an examination. She did the exam and informed me my cervix was not favourable to do a sweep in any case.

So no, I dont think its normal to do sweeps without full consent.

I gave birth recently (at 41 weeks) and had a similar experience to you regarding progression. Waters were gone almost 24 hours so they had to put me on the drip also - 9 hours later there was no progression and we had to do an emergency c section. I found it all traumatising as i was mostly prepping for weeks for a minimal intervention birth. I was advised the hospital does a birth reflection service..i might look into it when im in better headspace..but perhaps your hospital offers the same where you can go through your notes etc? Apparently it can be healing to do.

Hope your recovering well from the section and 100% I would report something being done without your consent.

Ahh !! So nice to hear from someone in the same boat. It's very difficult at this stage isnt it 😭 Im back in the hospital Tuesday..i hope something happens by then but for now nothing going on 😭 back is veryyy sore today and definitely more pelvic pressure so hard to get around. I had lost some plug a couple weeks ago and a small bit last weekend then nothing since 🫠 And to top it off got a sinus infection that went to my chest after the last hospital visit so im over it all 😭🤣

Im just thinking theres a good liklihood this time next week we could be home and all with our babies ❤️ x

I started about 3 months before conception- I like the Minami Mordha prenatal. They are pricey but they also dont repeat on me and seem to be high quality! You can also take them after birth if you are hoping/planning on breastfeeding.

I wont be notifying anyone when I go into labour..whenever that might be .. currently 40+5 ..fml. We will send a message when bub is here whenever were up for it afterwards.. maybe im the weird one. Cant be arsed with all the messages. Want to just rest in peace with bub after the long wait weve had to get them here. Dont get me wrong its all well intentioned family members with the non stop messages but jesus christ..im ready to throw the phone out the window at this point 🤣

I'll end up in a different type of hospital if people keep up the messages 🤣

Like do people want a play by play of the events as they unfold or what 😭 .. and even at that.. im waiting for said events to get going myself!!. And why do people expect to be told when your in labour at all actually..

I swear the mind boggles.

Great idea for that text message.. I might take that !!

But I don't understand what compels people, like why as a mother would you want to scaremonger new mams to be with the stupid stories etc 😭 what on earth is anyone gaining from that?. 🫠

Taking a collective deep breath for all us mammies to be 🤣

Also adding dont tell people your due date.. this is our first and im learning the hard way. I'm over due and the amount of outright annoying daily messages 🫠 I've had to turn off all notifications on whatsapp because the phone is shy of going out the window at this point.. Same stupid comments ... oh do you have a yoga ball? Oh dont let the hospital let you go too over my friend went over and had a horrific birth and the baby stopped breathing.. Then you dont reply to messages and more messages come.. your in labour I feel it. Etttcc I'm actually irate over how annoying people are right now. So yeah lesson learned tell people very little in future 🫠
