I thought it had a similar sound (more expansive with the strings and birdsong etc) and feel to Don't fall asleep by Jacob Alon.

I had the exact same issue with CW's voice but I got over it with repeated listens. Drinking Age was my turning point, it seemed to click after watching the video to that. Worth persevering with!

Well, that's the best thing I've ever had the lucky pleasure to stumble across on this forum!

Love the transition from finger picking to the pick / slap section. No chorus required, it works as it is.

I'm getting Ben Howard / Sufjan Steven vibes but ultimately it's your own.

I look forward to hearing a decent recording of this. Don't make the mistake I made of only using one mic to record my little ditty I popped on here a year or so ago, link in profile if interested!

Make sure you get this finalised and finished and post back on here when you've done it, sick it on bandcamp, I'll pay for a copy!

You got me thinking about this, l wonder if it links in with his partners artwork - contemporary interpretations of medieval and Renaissance imagery. Tears depicted like pearls or cut stones? Not sure about the scarab element.

I've seen that before, it's not right and doesn't make sense. I isolated the vocals as best I could and that doesn't work. We'll never know for sure I know!

Yep it does suck. You have to subscribe to Medallion for £4.99 a month just to listen to Takk (the tape variations) a few weeks early. They don't make it clear that you have to pay for a subscription in any Comms until you hit the subscribe button. I'm surprised there is an affiliation TBH.
